If you have clients who are interested in pursuing a career in the Custodial/Janitorial Industry or in the Security Industry, Evans Community Adult School has t...wo FREE job training programs that will get them on their way. Evans' 60-hour Building and Grounds course is offered in the evening, 10 hours a week (M-Th, 6 pm- 8:45 pm), and will prepare students to work in the custodial industry. Students who complete this class will be eligible* to apply to LAUSD as a Building and Grounds Worker (*applicant must also have a HS Diploma/Equivalency or have passed the proficiency exam). Evans' 40-hour Security Officer Trainee course is also offered in the evening, 10 hours a week (M-Th, 6 pm- 8:45 pm), and in just a few weeks, students can earn their BSIS Guard Card and be ready to work as a security guard. The classes themselves are FREE, but students are responsible for any associated costs (books, equipment, Live Scan, BSIS Guard Card Registration fee, etc.). These classes are open enrollment, which means new students can join at any time. All classes are currently ONLINE, so students need to have access to a device and the Internet.
