Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters at Sacramento/Metropolitan Fire Department, IAFF Local 522 as they mourn the loss of one of their own.

We’re proud of our members today as they saved a home in Latrobe! EDH crews along with crews from El Dorado County and Amador county arrived within minutes and safely extinguished fire in the structure. No Injuries were reported to anyone involved.

Battalion Chief Antonio Moreno (aka ‘AJ’) is our most senior member and just reached 35 of service to the El Dorado Hills commmunity, and he’s not done yet! We would like to give AJ a huge shoutout for reaching this extremely rare milestone. AJ’s years of service, knowledge, skills and abilities reflect great credit upon himself, our membership and the El Dorado Hills community.

Our firefighters were honored to participate in this event. Receiving additional training on vaccine administration, and dedicating several hours providing vaccinations to our local seniors. Our hearts are heavy as we join our brothers and sisters in blue in mourning the loss of thier officers. RIP Deputy Gibson and K-9 Officer Riley. We would also like to wish a speedy recovery to the other veteran officer recovering from their injuries.

El Dorado Hills Professional Firefighters successfully rescue three dogs and quickly extinguish a residential structure fire on Latham ln in EDH today.

Our thoughts are with the #OCFirefighters Local 3631 as they fight through their critical injuries suffered during a wildland fire today.

El Dorado Hills Professional Firefighters are currently on scene with an aggressive attack of a residential structure fire on the 7000 block of Tarvisio dr in El Dorado Hills.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family, friends, and coworkers of this fallen hero.

In these photos, EDH Honor Guard members replace the flag at Bertelsen Memorial Park in EDH. Although our firefighters are stretched extremely thin as are members still committed to fighting fires throughout the state, they still managed to keep up the annual tradition of honoring fallen EDH Firefighter Lt Peter L. Bertelsen. El Dorado Hills Professional Firefighters remain committed to honoring his line of duty sacrifice.

*** Fork Fire Update*** Due to changes in the fire behavior, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office is issuing an Evacuation Order. All residents and visitors i...n the areas of Stumpy Meadows, Quintette, and Volcanoville are required to evacuate. This is a mandatory evacuation for your safety. Please leave immediately and proceed in an orderly manner toward Georgetown. A temporary evacuation point has been set up at the Cool Community Church, 863 Cave Valley Rd, Cool, CA 95614. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office has deputies in the area and they will remain in the area to provide security in the evacuated areas.

As crews return, new ones are sent back out. Its shaping up to be a busy fire season.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to #FeatherRiverCollege for looking out for our firefighters. Our crews were lacking a comfortable place to sleep while working nights at the #ClaremontFire until Feather River College stepped up and opened empty classrooms for our members to rest. Crews from this particular Strike Team safely returned home to their families last night after two weeks of strenuous work. With current catastrophic events affecting Californians. El Dorado Hills Professional Firefighters have agreed to bypass contractual norms and send higher than usual numbers of firefighters to multiple fires. EDH Professional Firefighters currently have 24% of their ranks deployed throughout the state. Our firefighters have also stepped up and filled vacancies created by these deployments to ensure the districts we are sworn to protect remain unaffected and receive the level of service these communities deserve.
