Currently the United States is experiencing an extraordinary level of unrest due to long standing systematized discrimination and unequal treatment of American citizens based on race. These discriminatory practices based on the color of a person's skin are not unique to the United States. Breakthroughs International has always and ...will always include and welcome all people regardless of the color of their skin, their gender, their sexual orientation, their religion, or their age. We seek a better, more just world in which all human beings are empowered and have the opportunity to thrive. An emerging situation has come to our attention that impacts the future of our website and domain. If the situation as described in the Situation Summary below resonates with you, please sign this petition as soon as possible: https://savedotorg.org SITUATION SUMMARY This issue is a bit over my head as far as how domains work so please refer to the Information Links below to better inform yourself. Here are the basics as I understand the situation: Most non-profit domains use .org as we do: www.braingym.org www.breakthroughsinternational.org, etc. All .org domains are managed by the Public Interest Registry (PIR), part of a nonprofit, who does so on behalf of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Ethos Capital, a private for profit investment firm is buying PIR for $1.1 billion. We believe this is very bad for all .org domains, and would like as many people as possible to sign the petition. Essentially, a for profit investment company is not going to have the best interest of non-profit organizations in mind when controlling our domains.
