NEWS FLASH !!!NEWS FLASH!!! NEWS FLASH!!! We have reached our goal of 1,700 signatures. I personally want to thank everybody that took the extra time to sign th...e Petition. Now it will be my job to make sure the Petition and signatures get to the appropriate individuals. This Petition campaign will be followed up by an email campaign to the same recipients as those that received the Petition. I will be pestering you all again in the near future to send emails to the people or organizations I mentioned previously in past posts. So for now, I want to thank you all again for working together as a community and even those of you that don’t live by the Salton Sea or even in California, or the United States. It is inspiring that people from all different backgrounds can come together for something that is good and right. Best Regards, Ron Spears, Chairman, Salton Sea Restoration Committee See more

Last chance to get a comment letter into the California State Water Board before next week's meeting! Interested persons must submit written comments by 12:00 p.m. on April 1, 2021. We still know it's possible to restore the Salton Sea, keep the dust down and provide water resources for future generations by adding water from the ocean. Imagine how beautiful green and blue this place will be! We can finish the Coyote Canal. We support finishing the projects of the 10-Year p...lan and importing water to the valley for a sustainable future (with enough water!) Here's a good example: https://www.ecomediacompass.org/seawater-import-support-let Here's more background info, and the cities that are lining up to support water import: https://www.ecomediacompass.org/long-term-restoration Comments submitted must include the follow subject line: Comment Letter: Salton Sea. For submittals less than 15 megabytes in total size, interested persons should email the submittal to Jeanine Townsend, Clerk to the Board, at [email protected]

"Nothing works better for dust mitigation than to keep it wet. It’s not too late to finish the wetland you started. We encourage IID and everyone involved to just finish what you started and keep something alive" ~ Kerry Morrison, executive director of The EcoMedia Compass https://calexicochronicle.com//millions-available-for-re/

Salton Sea fishing in the 70s! Big thank you to Bruce for sharing the photos with us: "Sargo, Croaker, and Corvina. In a small aluminum boat off North Shore. As I recall we ran out of bait and found out the Sargo and Croaker went after bare hooks".... If you have photos of fishing, boating or just enjoying the Salton Sea share them here and we will feature them on social media
