Happy Friday! Check out the Fukuipteryx. A primitive bird that is changing our understanding of bird evolution. The Fukuipteryx has a pygostyle, which is similar to a small paddle, on the end of a shorter tail than expected so early. Excellent example of science changing everyday! Part 1: Science Club Trip to Yosemite and Tahoe area. These photos show the most famous glacial valley in America, Yosemite Valley. We also visited Moaning Caverns, which is a marble cave with a 160-foot high circular stairway.

Big honor for the El Camino Science Club! Our Science Clubber, Katelin Subbie, got an internship with the Natural History Museum of LA County after she visited the Invertebrate Paleontology Research Collection on a tour arranged by the Science Club. She worked so hard and last night she was honored as the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year! We are so proud of you, Katelin!

ATTENTION SCIENCE NERDS! Gabe Santos, the Collections Manager of the Raymond M. Alf Museum will be joining us as a guest speaker TOMORROW (Tuesday) in our general meeting at 1pm in NATS 206. COME CHECK IT OUT!
