Today we remember Mary Louise's 100th birthday fiesta at our venue on 3/24/19. Mary Louise Negrete was born on March 2, 1920 in Mexico where she married Esiquiel "Zeke" L. Arias. They moved to CA and raised their 5 children. One of their daughters, Olivia later married George Harrison and they had a son named Dhani. Olivia and her sister, Linda knew that their mother loved The Ebell of Los Angeles and held her 97th birthday here in 2016. Cadillac and Tamika Mallory have partnered to uplift the black community. Spike Lee asked that #feminist & #blm activist, Tamika Mallory represent black women in this herstory project. In honor of women’s history month, Cadillac has pledged $10M to support black social justice. The first $1M has been donated to the NAACP. What better place to host this celebration of the black female spirit than our women’s club. ... As an activist and feminist, Tamika spearheaded the 2017 Women’s March and continues to speak on behalf of all women and the black community.
