Today’s Gratitude: So thankful for our backyard garden. Currently growing kale, zucchini, basil, chard, green onions, cucumber, green pepper and Brussel sprouts! The wood was all repurposed and reassembled by @dennyshan during quarantine in March. It’s amazing what you can do in a small space. Some of our garden is even in pots. Watching this grow and now produce food for our family has been very therapeutic to watch during this strange time. The reward of planting seeds an...d watching them grow is such a beautiful way to live. Plant more seeds! Xo. Pictures are of 1. Current garden - seems like the garden became even stronger due to the fire ash in the air... silver lining. Thank you forests for sharing your fertilizer with our garden. 2. Another view 3. Our normal Kale, Chard and herb mix that we pick and cook with eggs in the morning. 4. Making the planter boxes See more

The world lost an awesome human, connector, hero skateboarder and awesome father. Keith - Thank you for believing in us when we decided to take a chance and open our own shop. Thanks for inviting Ozzy to do rad stuff like the @HUF BMX launch. Watching Ozzy and Keenan take over the ramp was the best. We are so greatful for all of the times we hung out and talked shop or talked family. Mariellen, Keenan and Coco- we’re sending you so much love and can’t imagine the sadness. Keith built such a large community that you all have family all over the place. We love you and we hope you can find peace and feel surrounded with love. Xo Rest In Peace @keithhufnagel you were one of the greats. We’re so sad you’re gone

It’s a sunny day in beautiful Los Angeles... but the wildfire smoke is choking out our sun. This experience is something we aren’t used to. We don’t know what it’s like to have your air always filled with particles. The catalyst for opening this store was exactly for this reason. As a clothing designer I went to China and India on resource trips. And on my last trip to China the air was like this. The AQI (Air Quality Index) was peaking at 300 - and sitting almost all day lon...g around 250. Today is around 170-240 in LA. It smelled like smoke. It was hazy. It was hard to breathe. Your eyes burn if you are out in it for too long. But the haze in China was not due to a fire. And actually they spent many days of the year in this condition. When I asked my lovely factory friends about their families they glow. When I asked them about how they felt about the haze they said I wish my kids could see the Sun more often. And as a mother of a 2 year old at the time this felt like a stab in the heart. Fast forward a couple days and all factories near Shanghai were closed - because Obama was in town to talk about air quality- and the air magically cleared up! (The quality was extra bad preceding the visit because factories were working overtime since they had to shut down). I know that it’s not only the apparel industry or even all the production of American goods that’s creating the terrible air. But it certainly is a contributing factor. In a country where people can’t protest if they are unhappy- everyone has just learned how to live with it. Going home to the states - I know the community would be furious and would want change if they had to live like this. So my mind started to shift. I started realizing I didn’t need as much as I did before. And that to stay in the apparel industry I needed to change the way I worked in it. Please take a moment to realize that billions of people live in this type of air everyday. And you and I are very privileged to be able to breathe in clean air (most of the time). Don’t overconsume. Buy secondhand. When you need to make sure it’s something you will keep and USE for a long time . Thank you brave firefighters. See more

Self care is so important right now. It’s important to ground ourselves with everything going on in this wild world. One thing that always brings me back to Earth is spending time in nature. But it’s not always possible- especially for us city dwellers. This is why I love this body wash from @juniperridge. It’s made using wild foraged materials from the west coast and the smells will transport you to another place! We have White sage- which smells like the sage bushes of the desert - and Redwood Mist- a salty pine smell of where the redwoods meet the ocean. Available in the shop now during our pickup hours and coming to our online shop soon!

Please stay healthy out there! We've got a few of our naturally dyed cloth masks still available online! Dyed with locally foraged eucalyptus that is actually good for you to breathe in
