Throwback Thursday: EVWD staff preparing to flush a fire hydrant back in the 90s. This process looks a little different now, but flushing remains an important step for maintaining water quality.
Friendly Reminder: In April, you may see a slightly higher bill than usual due to the water bill covering 35 days instead of 28. During months with longer billing cycles, the District expands your water budget to reflect the longer cycle.
Hydrant flushing is a critical step to maintaining water quality. This process helps remove sediment that can cause water to appear dirty or discolored.
Quality In Every : EVWD collects water samples year-round at various key sites throughout the community to ensure water quality and safety.
The Sterling Natural Resource Center will make every source a resource by using state-of-the-art co-digestion technology to convert 130,000 gallons of imported organic waste streams per day into 3 megawatts of renewable energy to power the facility. #TeamSterling

The SNRC’s aeration basins have come a long way since 2018! Approximately 150,000 pounds of reinforcing steel were laid for the basins’ foundation.
DYK...The SNRC’s state-of-the-art vessel systems will help prevent unwanted odors by scrubbing the air so that there is no noticeable odor coming from the facility? Additionally, through the use of Membrane BioReactors, the amount of space needed to operate the facility is dramatically reduced.
