East Union Cemetery is THRILLED that two Eagle Scouts from Troop 423 in Manteca chose our cemetery as their Eagle Scout projects. Aaron Moebius completed fundraising, designing, and installing gorgeous street signs for our paved roads. Thomas Medrano Corrales refurbished the Sperry plot fencing that had been removed and stored for YEARS outside in the cemetery back work space. It was the cemetery and the Sperry family's good fortune to find all the pieces, even in poor condit...ion, and have them brought back to life. Do drive through the cemetery and admire all the work these young men have done to help beautify our historical cemetery!! The cemetery board is forever grateful to all who worked to make these projects happen.

The next few weeks, as per our "Rules & Regulations" enacted at the time East Union Cemetery Association received its "Certificate of Authority", we will be removing objects from graves that hinder manicuring the grounds. Glass vases, figurines, or statues will also be removed as they may cause injury. If you have a sentimental item that you would like saved for you until you are able to pick it up please call the cemetery office. We will hold items for a couple weeks. It ha...s recently been brought to our attention that items placed by loved ones have been stolen. Please do not leave anything of value as we are not able to monitor the grounds 24/7. Theft is a common but sad reality at not just our pioneer cemetery, but others as well. LOVE MANTECA East Union Cemetery clean up is well underway.

Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have been helping keep the trees alive during the heat of the last few weeks. Saturday they also dug trenches and mulched some roses- so grateful for our volunteers!

This mornings look at East Union Cemeteries real life ANGELS!! These men volunteer their time and energy to assist families in preparing their loved ones final resting place. If you would like to join our angels, a couple times a month, please call the cemetery or message us here. We are in desperate need to get these gentlemen some help. Thank you!

Are you looking for community service opportunites? East Union Cemetery is in DESPERATE need of help with preparing the grounds for burial services. The burial crew needs assistance setting up and taking down chairs, pop-ups and putting away items used for services. Our current crew consists of retired American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign War volunteers who wish to train younger men to assist them.... If we can get enough help we may need you once or twice a month but are welcome to be on call. Please call 209-823-8533 and leave a message at the office. Thank you!

The cemetery office floors needed to be redone so Janice Zacharias, Steve Stroud and Janet Fiore removed two layers of linoleum tiles. We now have a bare cement floor. We are going to be removing the glue and then do one of three finishes. 1) buff/wax the cement 2) stain the cement floor or 3) paint the floor. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone have a cement buffer? We'd love to have some input. Thanks!
