Last week Spectrum News featured the East Los Angeles Pregnancy Center and the effects of the Coronavirus of non-profit organizations in Southern California. We are fighting to keep our doors open after 15+ years. If you can help contribute to our organization please visit ELAPC.com.
Last week's parenting class was presented by Citrus College's dental students! They visit us twice a year and we are so grateful for all the information they give the parents. Our parents learned about caring for baby's gums and teeth as well as their own. We also love the sample bags they give us as well!
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus from St. Alphonsus Parish who brought in donations of baby supplies and toys! We appreciate your generosity!
In December we had a Christmas parenting class where our clients were treating to games, prizes, and food! We all had a fun time!!
Don't forget our open house today from 10 am - 2 pm!
Friday we had Debbie from the Grossman Burn Center come speak to our parents about being proactive and avoid burns to their children. She also gave them a neat card to put in the bathwater to test it before putting their babies in the water. We have a father of twins who attends our classes as well. Remember we always welcome the fathers and enjoy their involvement in the classes.
ELAPC just keeps on going! On Sept 27th we had another parenting class which was presented by Exchange Club Family Support Center. Marla did an awesome job of talking to the moms and dad about noticing cues that baby gives when they are in need or stressed. She also presented a bit of their baby massage class. Our parents were invited to join their classes or receive in home classes as well.
ELAPC is so thankful to AudioGirl Ministries for having a plant booth at the St. Cornelius Craft Fair. Through the hard work of Jean Campos they were able to donate to ELAPC the sales of the plants blessing us with $354! God bless them for all they do to protect the lives of the unborn.
Two boys have been added to the ELAPC family. Please welcome baby Alexander who weighed 9 lbs. and was 22 inches long....and baby Dominik who weighs 7 lbs and is 19 1/2 inches! So glad to finally meet them!
Last Friday our very own Ana Serrano presented at our parenting class. She gave the mothers information about domestic violence and how to get help. Great job Ana!
Jose Espinoza thank you for your help at our Baby Bottle drive today! We appreciate you!!
Do you know a student who will be needing to complete service hours for school? Look no further because ELAPC has opportunities helping at our baby bottle drives. They can even bring friends and can volunteer together. Call us at 323-728-1292 to find out more information.
ELAPC was recently at Our Lady of Guadalupe (Hammel) for our baby bottle drive. We will be returning on August 17th and 18th so stop by and say "Hello" if you are in the area!
Thank you to this wonderful parishioner from Our Lady of The Miraculous Medal Parish who handmade beautiful blankets for our mothers to have for their babies. We appreciate all our donors!
Our June parenting meeting had some great excitement to it. Our presenter Isabel came to speak to our moms about exercising during and after pregnancy. She is an instructor at East LA College and LACC and did an awesome job with our class. Just look at those moms getting some exercise! ** Special thanks to St Thomas Aquinas Church who lent us their hall for this class**
