Much gratitude for Sensei Norma Foster, 7th Dan, President of CZWKA, for her generous guidance and extra practices and for braving the smoky air, rolling with the punches so to speak, and for reminding us that karate is what we make of it, however we practice. Do it right, keep it fun, keep structure, be ready for anything.

Kudos to all who challenged the tests after a long day of seminars. Congratulations to Denmark's newest blackbelt, Lars Normark Holmgaard, currently practicing with Wadokai Berkeley with help from Sensei Bob Nash, and to Tom Kaneshige, for passing 4th degree. Many thanks to Sensei Judy Harte for encouraging learning and participation, and challenging us to improve. Add a silver to the USA tally for women's kumite over 40! Yours truly, Petrice, didn't even get a bruise for throwing herself back in the ring after 8 years. Practice on, and mark your calendars for Vancouver next August!

Yes, sometimes it really is all about Tom. Keep practicing, keep improving, keep moving. Have some fun with it! Much appreciation to Sensei Bob Nash for... the additional trainings and to Sensei Judy Harte for continuing to encourage and foster new learning and supporting us in challenging ourselves.
