Good morning everyone. I'd just like to share, I've had my Oticon OPN's for about 5 weeks now. And the technology blows me away. My old hearing aids were alm...ost 11 years old. So hearing on the phone had been a struggle for a long time. But this morning, I talked to a woman for 30 minutes!! Now I didn't hear 100% of what she said, and I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times. But it was awesome!! She's from Voc Rehab and has been working with me to adjust to the aids, so that I can look for better jobs, that require some phone work. I've been doing data entry for 8 years now. The thing she said, that really hit home, was to practice! Doesn't that sound like a no brainer? But I hadn't even thought of that. She said to have people call, and keep practicing, so that my brain adjusts to the sound coming in my ears. I got my aids at the start of all this lockdown/distancing stuff. So I've been insulating at home and not had much opportunity to be out and about. Plus talking on the phone was not something I normally did. Feels like a whole new world is opening up!
