Self care check in time! Did you love you today? One of the things that I recommend to my clients is to have a creative hobby. I have several, beading, painting, crocheting, makeup ...aaand officer's jam. Officers jam is basically fruit, sugar, and alcohol that sits around for a few months to a few years. But you know I got to be extra and add herbs. My first batch is just over a year old and is fortified with herbs like astragalus, reishi mushrooms, ginseng, and goji maki...ng it a medicinal tonic. There is a long tradition of medical wines and elixirs in East Asian Medicine. I have several gallons stashed in my pantry including everything like tulsi, kumquat, dragon fruit, vanilla bean, ginger, apricots and more. This batch is one of my all time favorites! Pineapple guava is bomb in brandy. I added some chamomile, orange peel, and a pinch of lavender. I made a tiny bottle with some leftover fruit that my munchkin refused to eat and was going bad. It smelled so amazing it didn't make it a whole month. My dear friend hosts a sip and spell on the new and full moon and it was right on time. Self care check in! Did you love you today? I bet you thought I forgot and fell off. Nope! Needed a social media break. I did the bare minimum. The reality is that social media can do a number on your mental health. I found myself obsessing on the latest political nonsense from Texas and internally yelling at myself to do MORE so I could be successful (just like so and so)... and so I unplugged. I've done several things over the last few days besides doing my best to avoid so...cial media. * I made my favorite coffee scrub! If you have never tried it I strongly encourage you to give it a shot!!! I made alot because while I do a great job on my face I neglect the rest of me when it comes to lotion. (Don't judge me to ) I mixed brown sugar, fine ground coffee, chocolate powder, goat milk powder, coconut oil, honey, and lemon juice. Softens skin, exfoliates, lightens dark spots, and you know tastes amazing * You know i got to get my natural high off my own supply of ear seeds. I really love the Black is Beautiful ones. I see yall gonna make me order more of the press the rainbow . Ear seeds are amazing for helping you feel calm and getting you through the rough patches in life.
