So...at this point, we don't have an open library this year. (Ms. Kantor is back in the classroom bringing her National Board Certified skills to her seventh grade students.) What are your thoughts about this new trend of schools not having library access for their students?

If there was one book that you thought was absolutely essential in a middle school library, which book would it be?

This Thursday we won't have chess club. Instead, we will celebrate all our million word readers for the 2011 - 2012 school year!

This Thursday marks the return of our lunchtime Chess Club. Bring your lunch and join us for a game! All levels welcome.

The Connecting Cultures exhibit, Spiritual Connections, has come to an end. Valerie and company are busily packing up the collection. Next year we'll have the exhibit called Everyday Connections, which includes sports, costumes, and games. We can't wait until their return!

Our girl's book club met today. We completed Legend, by Marie Lu, with a terrific discussion. Most girls gave it a thumbs up! Our next book is TimeRiders by Alex Scarrow.

No more books will be checked out for the rest of the year. It's almost summertime and we need those books back! Please bring your books (and any fines!) to the library as soon as possible so that we can get them back on shelves and ready for next year!
