HEY YALL!!!! We have a very special mix out today from one of our alumni, Logan aka Driver A word from Logan: The genre that truly began my wholehearted dive into electronic music and the rave scene was trance, and I wanted this mix to reflect that. I didn’t want to do a mix with current tracks that would quickly be outdated and I also didn’t want to do a 90’s/early 00’s classics mix because those are overdone, so I made this mix specifically as an homage to my favorit...e era of trance: the late 00’s to early 2010’s, specifically the distinct melodic sound of labels such as Anjunabeats in their earlier days, which you’ll hear throughout the mix, as well as some tracks from that era which would come to define the current sound of trance, specifically the very last track. With that being said, thanks for reading enjoy the journey. I hope this will be a treat for current trance heads and maybe be the catalyst for new ones. My favorite genres besides trance are techno, drum n bass (liquid!!!), house, and hard dance. My favorite memory in DVC is probably when I went to my first meeting and met everyone for the first time and after telling them I liked trance, they actually found that cool and interesting. For a while I was a bit insecure about my music taste because it was extremely niche at UCR. This leads me into the most important thing I learned from being in DVC: be unabashedly yourself. Know your sound and your taste and be proud of it. That’s ultimately what makes you an artist and DVC at UCR is truly special because everyone’s taste is valued and welcomed no matter how niche or underground.

WE’RE BACK WITH OUR MIX SERIES WITH OUR VERY OWN VP: SOKYO . LINK IN BIO . A word from Adi: Wassup y’all! I’m a second year biology major and I’ve been producing music for about 5 years. I started releasing songs under SOKYO last year, around the same time I started DJing. While I mostly focus on future bass, I tried to make a super gritty mix this time I hope y’all like it <3333
