This is why I ride...It has been my bittersweet pleasure to have met the most amazing group of people. I can honestly say their strength has been my inspiratio...n. I live with Diabetes and I'm riding with them in my heart. Join me in my fight to turn Type One into Type None. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure yet. But JDRF is working every day to change that. Every dollar you donate to my Ride today will help JDRF continue to fund critical research that impacts the lives of millions of children, adults, and families affected by T1D. With your support, we will create a world without T1D and turn Type One into Type None. Thank you. https://www2.jdrf.org/site/Donation2

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared this. I felt like it was necessary to do it again because of the insulting memes that are going around comparing Type 1 Diabe...tes to Type 2. Diabetes is not a competition. It all sucks! People with cancer don’t compare their cancer to other cancers. Why is this ok in the Diabetes world??? Please watch the entire video and share with your friends. The world needs more compassionate people in it. Spread the word! See more

It was an honor to share my #Afrezza story. Great job Jeremy Fultz. Can't wait to see the final version. Afrezza is definitely a game changer in Diabetes management. #Freedom from Diabetes.

Ok my T1D mom's and dad's...Reality has set in. I've lived the last 33 years dealing with only my Diabetes. Next week, I'll have the pleasure of watching over a cabin full of T1 teenage boys. I know they'll be managing their own care for the most part. However, the reality is, now I'll be responsible for the 2:00 am blood sugar checks, managing snacks, ensuring we have enough glucose tabs, etc...I've always felt that is was easier being a T1D vs. having a T1D child. As a T1D you accept it as your life and move on. As a parent, you constantly worry no matter how old your child is (confirmed by my parents Rich & Carole). To my mother and father, thank you for everything you have ever done for me. I love you guys! Next week I'll be walking in your shoes. I hope I can fill them.

Hodia is a camp for kids with diabetes, a place of independence, life, health and friendship. I am happy to announce that yours truly has been selected to be a staff member at Hodia Teen Camp for 2016. Please don't let this discourage you from sending your teen to camp. I promise I'll be on my best behaviour. I never had the opportunity to attend a Diabetes camp as a kid so you can only imagine how excited I am now. http://www.hodia.org/
