Another call to action for this coming Tuesday and Wednesday at noon in Petaluma (we do not know who the organizer is, just sharing each protest as we find out about them).

Our Marin branch is putting on this event on Sunday! There are so many actions and protests to go to these days, which is fantastic - but without a deeper understanding of some of the underlying structures that create our society's problems, protesting only goes so far. Educate yourself with comrades!

A protest is happening tomorrow, Friday 6/5, to honor Breonna Taylor on her birthday. 3pm, Courthouse Square. If you haven't come out to protest yet, and you're comfortable doing so during this pandemic, please come out! Social distancing is easy to do in the Square. https://www.facebook.com/events/580587729505005/

Andy Lopez should be celebrating his 20th birthday today. But he was murdered 7 years ago, a child of only 13, by Sonoma County Sheriff's deputy Erick Gelhaus, who has never been held responsible for Andy's death. The Police Brutality Coalition Sonoma County has called for a vigil at 5pm tonight. Show your support for his family and a community that lost a child, and demand accountability and justice.

Amazing Black Lives Matter action happening in Santa Rosa right now! A protest at Courthouse Square turned into a march, which is still going up Mendocino right now. #blacklivesmatter #justiceforGeorgeFloyd

CALL TO ACTION: We are demanding the release of people held at the Sonoma County detention center, before the virus has a chance to spread like wildfire throughout the jail. Join us Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday from 5:30-7pm and Saturday from 1-2:30pm for a socially-distant car protest! https://www.facebook.com/events/506917139986822/

Today was Day One of our week-long protest at the Sonoma County detention center and we had a great turnout! Join us M-F from 5:30-7 and next Sat. from 1-2:30 as we continue to demand the release of prisoners from the jail. Keeping people confined during a pandemic is cruel and unusual punishment! #freethemall https://www.facebook.com/events/506917139986822/

Join our week-long car protest, starting Sunday, to demand the release of inmates from the Sonoma County Adult Detention Center! These folks are at risk of becoming sick and dying from covid-19 due to crowded and unsanitary conditions and the dangers posed by guards and other jail personnel who may be vectors for the virus. Awaiting trial or having committed a crime (many folks in jail have not even been convicted of anything!) are NOT excuses to suffer the cruel and unusual punishment of being subjected to a deadly virus!
