One Heart Source (OHS) is an entrepreneurial non-profit organization that designs and catalyzes education programs that empower vulnerable people and communities with choice and opportunity. The organization’s model of international mentorship connects university students to vulnerable youth and communities across cultural, social, and economic boundaries. With its partner communities in Jamaica, South Africa, and Tanzania, the OHS International Collective provides holistic c...are and academic excellence as a means of ending the vicious cycle of generational poverty. We believe students of Claremont Graduate University would benefit greatly from the experience of volunteering and teaching abroad. One Heart Source in Jamaica and South Africa next summer. Our upcoming application deadline is December 4. For more information, please visit the website below. https://oneheartsource.org//undergraduate-and-graduate-un/
EVC visited Dog Haus on Tuesday and met with the restaurant's co-founder Andre Vener, a passionate entrepreneur and Drucker alum. Andre shared with us a personal account of his many ventures from running a Philharmonic to opening a jazz bar to running an events company to launching a booming fast casual dining franchise. He recounted many of his successes but also disclosed accompanying failures. Andre emphasized that you can't be afraid to fail and to trust your gut that if ...something feels right- you just have to go for it and really devote yourself to it. It is about taking risks while trying your best to hedge your bets. He also spoke of the benefits of having business partners and the importance of choosing the right ones. We all left feeling very inspired with some great takeaways and full bellies of delicious gourmet dogs and burgers :)
