These telehealth groups are ideal for low intensity clients who could benefit from DBT skills training. The group will be multifamily for teens. The program will follow the 25 model of our Standard Program. The inclus...ion criteria is having an individual therapist and 90 days from the last target behavior (such as: hospitalization, self injury, suicide attempt). Just because we are moving into the holiday-ing season doesn't mean life gets magically easier. In fact, it can feel much harder. One way to handle these feelings is through using our breath to manage the effort. This can look like a serious pranayama practice, using the P of TIPP skill for Paced Breathing, or a simple inhale/exhale. With this inhale/exhale in mind, enjoy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo9jAOx6Pdw How do YOU handle stress? Drop a comment below and let us know! We'd love to hear from you.

One of the core Mindfulness How skills in DBT is Effectiveness... Effectiveness means: -Being mindful of your goals in the situation; -Focusing on what works; -Playing by the rules;... -Acting as skillfully as you can; and -Letting go of willfulness and sitting on your hands. having a hard time envisioning what INEFFECTIVE behavior looks like? Dr Seuss story "The Zax" demonstrates a good example of what it mean to be ineffective. Take a look at ineffectiveness in action! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZmZzGxGpSs Developing effectiveness can ease interpersonal interactions, increase creative problem solving, and bring you closer to your goals. In other words, being effective can keep you going North, no matter what gets in your way. Does this resonate with you? Drop into the comments and tell us about it, we'd love to hear from you.

Monday has rolled around again... reminding us another time how the wheels turn. Mindfulness practice is the key to being able to step back and simply WATCH the wheels go round and round vs. being pulled in and dragged through the wheels' path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6YnizK2LZs What is your favorite mindfulness practice? Comment and share below, we'd love to hear from you!... #mindfulmonday #mondaymindfulness #mindfulness

In these troubled anxiety provoking times, where many people are struggling with fear, depression, uncertainty, PTSD and adductions, mental health services become extremely important. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an innovative treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, has been able to convert it is services more quickly and smoothly than could have been imagined to an online platform. DBT, for those of you who do not know, is an evidenced based treatment for those suffering f...rom emotion dysregulation issues. Now more than ever, DBT is needed to help people develop new coping strategies as we continue to face the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current societal stressors. We in the Sacramento area are lucky to have many DBT resources. When I started the Auburn Davis Center for DBT 12 years ago there were very few DBT providers. Today more and more therapists and programs are offering this effective short term treatment. These include Livity, DBT of Elk Grove, DBT Sacramento, Kaiser, UCDavis and many others. Many thanks to all those provoking these and other services to our community. The Auburn Davis Center for DBT is proud to announce the beginning of an Eating Disorder tract in our Davis program. Since this program is online, location an issue. Please see the flyer below for details. Best wishes and be well. See more

Hello All, I am very excited to announce the rescheduling of the training and certification by Mindfulness in Recovery. This training was originally going to be held in my Folsom Office. Now due to the constraints of COVID, it will be online. Since January of this year I have been studying with John Bruna and find his work an amazing asset to our work with with people who suffer from issues related to addiction. This program is compatible with any other therapeutic model you... might be using CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic etc What I have found the most enlightening is the combination of mindfulness and 12-step based philosophies, and DBT/CBT techniques. This training is ideal for any and all levels of counselors/therapists/associates. I hope you can join me for this wonderful, intimate training experience. Hurry, there is a short prerequisite course. You can register on the website www.MIRInstitue.org.
