I’m feeling so hopeful today. Did you know that it took 4 years to develop the Polio vaccine? And in just 11 months, the international community got together and figured out the science, technology and logistics to produce and roll out a COVID-19 vaccine that is 95% effective!? I am overwhelmed by the magnitude of this achievement- when I think about all the sacrifice and suffering that our frontline workers have had to endure, from nurses, respiratory therapists and cleaning... crews at hospitals to paramedics and fire and police officers to grocery store workers... we are finally approaching the moment where they won’t have to be risking their lives just by being near those they are serving. My arm is very sore but otherwise I haven’t had any other side effects from the first shot so far. I will continued to keep you updated- my second shot is scheduled in 3 weeks.
