Dr. Ghadir, first and foremost, regardless of the outcome of this cycle...I just wanted you to know that I am extremely THANKFUL for the way you took good care of me this cycle! This journey has been a difficult one, however, I am 100% sure I have chosen the best doctor for me! -Leticia B.

If you’re trying to conceive, stress is probably on the menu, too. As your stress levels increase, your chances of getting pregnant decrease. This is likely due to the hormonal changes that occur when you feel stressed. I highly recommend acupuncture. There are so many benefits from helping to conceive to stress management. @scrcivf has an acupuncturist in-house, @acupuncturejenn.

With your morning coffee, take a minute and think about something positive and see how your day and mindset change. Each morning is a clean slate and why not start it out on the right foot. Today my thought is to take time to appreciate all the wonder that is around me and how lucky I am to do what I love. What is yours?

I loved this post by @fabfertility! [They asked] What the biggest struggle was between you and your partner going through #infertility treatments. One of the resounding themes was your partner not having a clue what your protocol, calendar or overall game plan is. While it is a lot to keep up with, it is super annoying to have to remind him/her 1,457 times, especially when you’re hormonal as all hell. Trust me, I have been there!... The key to getting your partner more involved is to give them stake in the game. Here are 5 tips on how to do just that... 1) Create a shared Google calendar containing all appointments (blood draws, ultrasounds, acupuncture, consults, etc.) It’ll take some time, but eventually the questions about appointments will stop and eyeballs on the calendar will start. 2) Have your partner administer your shots. There is no reason why they shouldn’t (unless they are working). Set the expectation that parenting is 50/50 from the start. Scared of needles? Please. That’s a lame excuse and we all know it. 3) Have your partner receive the phone calls from the nurse/doctor with results. Whether it be beta results, lab reports, diagnostic testing - switch it up and have your partner take some of that burden. There isn’t a reason we, as the women going through the treatments, should be the default messenger for news that effects us both. 4) Try out couples therapy. This might be a little harder to pull off both financially and as it relates to ego. Many people, especially men, tend to think going to therapy means something is wrong or you’re admitting failure. Try this: promise to not talk his/her ear off 24/7 about fertility IF you can get some designated time scheduled with a therapist. Win win. 5) Plaster your medication calendar on the fridge and bathroom mirror so there is no choice but to look at it in the two most highly trafficked areas of the home. It’s like an ad- once you see it enough, it sticks in your memory. See more

It’s so easy to feel like we are failing when we don’t reach our big goals (like a healthy pregnancy); but there are tiny victories on our paths every day. What’s yours?

We are proof that faith is bigger than fear. I am one in eight. 1 in 8 Americans unfortunately suffer from infertility.

I have been so touched hearing all the brave stories from the #NeverBeStill campaign for National Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. Your strength is so powerful and your voice is helping break the stigma for so many women.

It's estimated that more than 8 million babies have been born via IVF since 1978. Statistics for surrogacy are harder to nail down, but between 1978 and 2008, approximately 28,000 babies were born to surrogate carriers. That’s roughly 1,000 babies per year. If you are struggling to get pregnant, you are not alone and there are options available for you. To talk through your choices I am now doing online consultations worldwide or call our Beverly Hills Office 1 310.277.2393.

Embryogenesis is an incredibly complicated process. It’s amazing that in eight weeks we’re transforming from a single cell to an organism with multiple organ systems.
