Hi all! Did you know kids should have their first dental visit by age 1? The World Health Organization recently said non-essential oral preventive care should be delayed during this pandemic. As healthcare professionals who take care of kids, we do not agree! During a pandemic, preventive dental care is still essential health care! Dental health is key to overall health, so pediatrician/preventive medicine specialist @stephleemd and pediatric dentist @thepedsdentist crea...ted #1stdentalvisitby1 Facts 1 out of 10 two-year-olds already have 1 or more cavities More time at home during COVID may lead to more frequent snacking and a higher risk of cavities Primary tooth decay may affect permanent teeth and lead to future dental problems, including infection of the jaws, sinuses, brain or blood Dental offices are taking extra precautions to keep you safe during COVID Don't delay preventive care! Part of staying healthy during COVID means protecting kids' teeth too. See more

Dear Parents, COVID-19 has changed everyone's familiar routines, so we've made important changes too to provide a safer and even cleaner experience in our office. Today, I'd like to update you on those improvements and how they better protect all of our parents, patients and staff. Safety and comfort have always been our top priorities, and with that in mind, we've teamed up with medical experts to ensure we're getting the best scientific advice. In making their guidance a r...eality, we've created an environment in our office that is one of the safest public places you can be: We're requiring everyone to properly wear a face covering. This is unless your health is endangered by wearing one. In that case, we ask that you have another parent accompany your child. The HEPA13 filtration systems in every room recycle the air every 2-3 minutes and remove 99%+ of particles (even smaller than the COVID virus), making the air in our office cleaner than what you experience in restaurants, grocery stores, schools or even hospitals. These filters remain on prior to your appointment, and after we leave work to ensure the highest quality air in our office. We have hired a wonderful lady who has a bachelor’s degree in public health education from Chico State to ensure our rooms are super cleaned after every child patient as well. Even with our new cleanliness standards, disinfection protocols and social distancing policies in the office during your child’s appointment, we understand that some parents are anxious about being around other parents. Upon your arrival, we promise to do our best to keep your families separated in one of our 3 waiting rooms. Our entire staff team is committed to providing you with the best possible dental experience for your child as we continue to evaluate our policies and practices based on the latest CDC guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you all back when you're ready for your child’s appointment. We'll update you often so you can stay informed about how we're better protecting our parents, patients and staff, and doing our part to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. See you soon! Hi Parents! It's Dr. Palmer here. I hope you are all well and enjoying some quality family time. My family and I are healthy, staying positive, and enjoying the silver linings. We have had lots of questions from concerned parents so I'll try to address them all. Emergencies? Follow this link: https://levipalmerdds.kidsteledentistry.com/ 1. Are we seeing patients: Yes. We have been seeing children in pain with urgent dental needs in the office and hospital. 2. Can we see you...r child for extractions, crowns, fillings, etc? : Yes. If you would like your child seen to remove dental disease so they don’t have pain, and your child passes an infectious disease screening. Here is the link to the screening. Please fill it out and email it to [email protected] or respond to this text and attach it. https://drive.google.com//1YOHWBnSRDyyHPepOhiFfwSgQz/view 3. Are you seeing children to clean their teeth? No. We are extremely sorry and trying to minimize the office staff and your family’s exposure to COVID. 4. Is your facility safe for our children? We have always taken cleanliness seriously; as we all know kids are efficient transmitters of colds and flu to us adults. We have ionization filtration in our office and it works very well to maintain a contaminant free environment. We are big advocates of physical distancing, so only one family will be allowed in the office every hour. Please do not bring your entire family in. Only one adult will be allowed to escort children patients in our office. The CDC website provides the latest information about COVID-19 transmission: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/transmission.html 5.Can I reschedule my child’s cleaning? Yes. Via text or phone. We will do our best! If I’ve missed something please personally text me at 303-565-6695. We will all make it through this if we stick together and keep communication open. We all here truly miss you and your families, and look forward to seeing you all again soon! Be well and stay brave, Love Dr. Palmer and Staff Oh PS, if you get bored, I started a Tic-tok to have some fun. It’s under USCDOC See more

Hi parents! This is Dr. Palmer’s Pediatric Dentistry. Although we have used universal precautions for sterilizing before the outbreak of novel COVID-19, we are temporarily closing for 2 weeks out of an abundance of caution. If you were not aware, dentists and dental staff are one of the highest at risk for contracting this virus. This decision was not made lightly and was a strong recommendation from our California Dental Association. I have included the link below for reference. We are here in case of pain to help with emergencies, so please call us if needed. We are working hard to contact you all to reschedule right now. We are so grateful for your understanding. Stay healthy! With Love, Dr. Palmer and Staff https://www.cda.org//News-and/COVID-19-coronavirus-Updates https://www.nytimes.com//eco/coronavirus-worker-risk.html

To our patients... We are diligently monitoring the Coronavirus situation and will continue to do so. We ask that if you, your child or any family members are experiencing symptoms such as coughing, fever or any respiratory symptoms that you please call to reschedule your child. We will continue to accommodate as many patients as we can, but the situation continues to change, and the safety of you, our patients, staff and families is our utmost concern. It is at our discretio...n to cancel/reschedule your child's appointment if we feel it is in the best interest of the child, our other patients, or our staff. We are following the guidelines provided by both the CDC and ADA and will provide updates and changes as they are made available. We hope to see you and your kiddos as scheduled happy and healthy!! Our office is happy to announce we have an angel tree this year! It's near and dear to our hearts as Dr. Palmer's wife, Christina, was once an angel on the tree (See attached photo for full story). This is a great way to give back to the less fortunate children locally! Thank you for your consideration and Happy Holidays!
