If you’re a busy #mama, this ones for you. Did you know the body can get stuck in something called sympathetic dominance, which is when your body is stuck in fight or flight mode. To put it simply, your body basically thinks that you’re running away from a tiger 24/7. That is not a healthy way to live. Stress, deadlines, kids, sleepless nights, the physical stress of carrying kids on your hip, all add up in the body. If you need help bringing your stress levels ...down, and really stepping into a deeper place of balance and EASE within your own body, we can help. Studies show that gentle care can balance your sympathetic system with your parasympathetic system, in other words, it can help bring your stress system down to a normal level. @lajollachiro #lajolla #sandiego #wellness #healing #mindset #california #pregnancydoctor #pregnancychiropractor #sandiegochiropractor #labor #lajollachiropractor #sandiegodoula #healthcoach #doctor #chiropractor #sandiegomoms #sandiegomom #motherhood #momlife #mindbodygreen #selfcare #grounding #pregnancy #prenatal #functionalmedicine #mylajolla #naturalhealth

Hi Mamas!! Are you a new or expecting mama who's ever wondered what the heck is in all the products you use in your home? Have you ever wondered why they say scented candles are so bad for you? Do you want to know which brands are ACTUALLY trustworthy, and which to stay away from?! If so, then this month's meeting is for you! Or if you just want to meet other likeminded mamas and sit in a beautiful park for an hour, this month's meeting is for you too. :) Our Natural Moms... Tribe is back! We’re meeting this Saturday October 17 from 10:00-11:00AM at Ellen Browning Scripps Park here in La Jolla (down the road from our office). Husbands, partners & friends are welcome! Usually it’s a mamas-only group but my husband will be joining, as he would like to share all the changes he’s made on his end as well. Because of this, you can bring your husbands/partners if they’d like to come too! The whole family is welcome. Please bring your own blanket! I’ll have a few extra but to make sure everyone feels comfortable, bringing your own blanket will allow you to sit wherever you’d like. This is a safe space for us all to connect, and learn about how to build a nest (your home) that is safe for kiddos and toxin-free. Body Burden is the sum of toxic chemicals in the human body at one time and research is showing that babies are being born already with a toxic load in their system because of what’s been transferred through the umbilical cord. In this hour, we’ll be going over ways to reduce the toxic load in your householdfor good! Please RSVP by sending a text to our office (619) 895-1880 ASAP letting us know your name, and whoever you’re bringing. Side note: We’re meeting at the beautiful Ellen Browning Scripps Park, which is alongside some of the most beautiful beaches in La Jolla. We should be done by 11AM so if you’d like to spend a peaceful day by the ocean, this is a good day for that. :) #lajollamom #sandiegomom #momstribe #sandiegochiropractor #pregnancychiropractor

By processing and recognizing our own feelings, we are helping our children to do the same. We are connecting and empathizing through our similarities, the human quality present in all of us. #responsiveparenting #responsivesleep... Beautiful post by @responsiveparentsproject

One year since I opened my doors. What a year it's been!

This review means a lot to me. Chiropractic care should never be one size fits all. You are an individual with your own set of life experiences, traumas, and issues and I love giving my clients the time and attention that they deserve! #chiropractor #chiropractic #sandiego #lajolla #vitality

The expressions in this photo say it all. It’s amazing to think that it’s been a whole year since I opened my doors to @lajollachiro . So much has happened in this past year! I’m thankful for all of the incredible people I’ve met along the way and for all of the lives that have been changed by gentle chiropractic care. I feel like I’ve become an integral part of so many families and that you’ve all become a part of ours. If you’re in #sandiego #lajolla you should stop by and say hello, get adjusted, shift your energy. Also, @rachelmcconnwellness thank you and #johnluke so much for showing up today. @patrickhussion #chiropractor #pregnancy #postpartum #choices #gratitude

It is unbelievable how blessed I feel to take care of the moms and kiddos in our community. To help adults process stress, help kiddos reach their milestones, and build relationships with these beautiful families makes my heart so full! Maggie loves it too. ... #cuteness #sandiego #lajolla #sandiegochiropractor #babychiropractor #lajollachiropractor #mylajolla #sandiegodoula #sandiegobirth #healthyfamilies #healthykids #pregnancypreparation #pregnancy #birth #chiropractor #icpa4kids #naturalhealth #fitfam #doctor #healthcoach #toxinfree #greenbeauty #holistic #healing #lajollacove #postpartum #postpartumbody #baby

BEFORE pregnancy is really the best time to start caring for your pelvis and spine, to help prepare your body! A healthy spine and pelvis can help achieve the best possible pregnancy and birth outcome for both you and your little one. #sandiegomom #chiropractic #sandiegochiropractor #mylajolla #pregnancy #preconception #icpa @lajollachiro

When life seems chaotic and anxiety creeps in, come back to your balancing rhythms. Connection: It’s more difficult than ever before for us to connect, but we can’t let the struggle stop us. Research shows that stay at home mom’s are more likely to feel depression and anxiety, and isolation and loneliness is believed to be the main driving factor. ... Movement: Stop worrying about exercise, and start incorporating MOVEMENT throughout your day. Dance with your kids, chase them in circles, get a good sweat when you can. Reframe movement for mood rather than for bouncing back. Rest: Our body needs physical and mental rest. This is why many religions incorporate a Sabbath day. Our role as mom is 24 x7, but it’s important that we schedule in restful activities and downtime to properly recharge. Nourishment: This isn’t about calories- this is about nutrients. Ensure each of your meals is filled with adequate protein and fat- this is what stabilizes your blood sugar (the most important part of a stress-free diet). Eat from the earth and avoid processed foods to quell inflammation. #repost @dr.aricalhoun

Alright mamas. Is your little one suffering with ear infections? A lot of the time, if the top bone (called the atlas, or the C1 vertebrae) is out of alignment, it could be putting pressure on the vestibulocochlear nerve (one of the cranial nerves that we have), which could result in a lack of drainage in the ear. It might not be an infection that they’re experiencing, but a build up of ear fluid. In this particular case, a one year old with terrible ear infections... received gentle chiropractic care. After 9 adjustments over a 6 week period, there was total resolution of the ear infections. If your kid has been taking antibiotics, even one round, taking a good probiotic to help replace the flora in their gut that was killed because of the antibiotic (antibiotics kill both the good AND the bad bacteria in the gut). Please feel free to reach out with any questions. #sandiegochiropractor #pediatricchiropractor #pregnancycare #healthylife #wellness #postpartum #momlife #sandiegomom #healthy #foodasmedicine #healthylifestyle #wellnessadvocate #mindbodygram #selfcare #healthcoach #motherhood #momlife #parenting #chiropractor #chiropractic #icpa #exercise #fitness #fitfam #mindbodygreen #optoutside #doula #sandiego #lajolla #mylajolla See more

YES. New mothers need to be educated about the changes that are going on with their bodies, that postpartum anxiety is a normal part of the healing process. Mothers were never meant to parent in isolation... normally there are grandmothers and great grandmothers, to help but this day in age, not everyone has their village. Education and preparation needs to start even before conception, as far as what to expect regards to baby sleep patterns, what babies actually eat, breastfeeding, proper postures to prevent the body from entering into fight or flight, and so much more. : @theinsecureparentssociety
