This year I've been saying yes to more invitations to host workshops and trainings for Narrative Therapy. And, I'm so grateful for the opportunities. These trai...nings give me the chance to train clinicians from all over the state in a theory that is not just my passion but so much of the lens I view humanity through. If you're every curious what Narrative Therapy is, or what it looks like in the "locker room" where therapists go to learn and grow their skills here's a brief peak. Michael White and David Epston started this Narrative movement to create a model of empowering clients that they didn't see in other models in the profession. I'm so proud to consider myself a therapist, but more than that, someone that gets the privilege to witness people grow and take back the authorship rights in their lives. #rewritingnystory #psychology #therapy #selfgrowth #empowerment #psychologist #empower #counseling #encouragement #mentalhealth #wordsoftheday #therapist #empowering #womenempowerment #hardworker #youngentrepreneurs #mindsetiseverything #successcoach #confidence #lifecoach #helpothers #leadership #entrepreneurial #businessmen #gogetit #inspireothers #personalgrowth #psicologia #youngentrepreneur See more

Suicide is a topic that is hard to acknowledge but we must. Every 40 seconds someone in the world takes their life. Talking about suicide, learning the warning ...signs and getting help early on is the best form of prevention. This morning at 8:15am I'll be on @fox40news with @realpedrorivera to share more information in honor of #SuicidePreventionWeek #suicide #suicideprevention #mentalillness #anxiety #depression #mentalhealth #sacramento #visitsacramento #suicidal #mentalhealthawareness #depressed #downtownsac #exploresac #suicideawarenessmonth #bulimia #igerssac #mysacramento #sactown #916 #suicidepreventionday #sacramento365 #sacramentoproud #selfhate #mentalhealthmatters #ptsd #selfharmmm #midtownsac #sad #anorexic

Numbers don't lie. Marriage is majorly on the decline. Less people are getting married, more people are getting divorced and as a result cynicism towards the in...stitution is at an all time high. I joined Bethany Crouch and Cristina Mendonsa on NewsRadio KFBK to help make sense of these trends and what we should really be focusing on as our takeaways. #marriage #groom #instawedding #ceremony #weddingparty #weddingday #bride #weddingdress #bridesmaids #weddinggown #congrats #instawed #married #unforgettable #romance #weddingcake #celebration #wife #husband #celebrate #congratulations #together #casamento #weddingphotography #smiles #bridetobe #noiva #weddingideas #forever #bridal See more

What an honor to be interviewed on Plant Trainers podcast. Adam and Shoshana invited me on to speak about childhood obesity and this is audio from my last porti...on of our interview where they asked me what advice I'd give to kids, like me, who are overweight, and what advice I'd give to their parents. Hope this helps and encourages someone. The full interview is available on iTunes, Spotify, and everywhere else you can find podcasts. Subscribe to the Plant Trainers!

Had so much fun with Ashley and Cambi today on Good Day Sacramento! It was so cool to have such a vulnerable conversation where each of us opened about our own ...mental health struggles and how exercise played a vital role in helping us feel better. THIS is exactly what the campaign was intended to do. To give us a platform to share our stories and protest stigma associated with mental health struggles. #Run4MentalHealth

I don't run just for my physical health. I mainly run for my mental health. Running has saved me from being on the verge of panic attacks. Running has been my p...lace of sanctuary from times when I was lost in depression. Running is my space to reconnect with God, find answers to life's seemingly unsolvable problems and get out of my head and back into my life. I don't run just for my physical health. I mostly run for my mental health. The physical benefits are just side effects. For me it's not about pace, mileage, distance or medals. It's about finding inner peace. It's about utilizing running as a tool of empowerment. I am launching the #Run4MentalHealth campaign because I think running might help you in ways that it helped me. Because so many of us experience mental health struggles and yet so few of us get help because of the stigma attached to it. And because so many of us never attempt to run because we're convinced we're "not runners." We're not built like runners and we don't look like runners. Or worse yet it's been used as a form of punishment not as a method of empowerment. So we spend every time running in our head hating it rather than embracing and learning to love it. In the month of May I'm inviting you to take the pledge. Will you run just one time for your mental health? Will you suspend preconceived notions and give it a chance again but this time for entirely different reasons? #Run4MentalHealth
