Getting ready to go on my medical mission trip to American and Western Samoa next week. . . since we have to fly through hawaii to Pago Pago anyway ---we are arriving a few days early to celebrate our 35th anniversary (June 23) in Maui. The boxes contain medications and dozens of prescription and reading glasses which will be given to patients at no charge. Together, my hubby and are allowed 4 checked luggage of 50 lbs each (200 total) and 2 carryons...I think we will be bri...nging 150-175 pounds of supplies and ophthalmic equipment (checking in two suitcases and a big box). . . not including my auto refractor. This will leave one suitcase and one carry-on for our personal use. So excited to return (and show John the beauty of Samoa and the Samoan people) !! This is my fourth trip... I have been going once every three or four years.
