It’s great to see other doctors around the world starting to discuss mental health in our profession. I’m excited to share what we do at #lightsidedentistry with this panel of speakers from Australia tonight . #dentalmentalhealth #lightsidedentist #lightsidedentists

I can’t tell you how fun it was to be back on stage speaking with a study club IN PERSON! This is only my second in person course in 12 months! At one time I would have done 40 in person dates in one year . Being with our colleagues is actually proven by research to help our mental health! It was so great to share stories, knowledge, and generally feel understood. I also got to be introduced by my very first dental mentor, Dr. Chris Larson who took me under his wing when I was just a college student. Thank you @californiaoralsurgery and @paramountdentalstudio for the support!

**************************************************** Post for Dental Colleagues who knows the value of 'reflect-reset-recharge' and wants to know how-to ****...************************************************ One thing I love about being a dentist is that we are in a people's business for people. Whilst healthy teeth can allow you to enjoy eating, drinking, speaking and beautiful teeth can make your smile better , it's of paramount importance to enjoy true health with a great mentality . Monday, March 1st - Saturday, March 6th, 2021 @ 7pm ACST | 8:30pm AEST (Sydney/Melbourne), I will join Dr. Kaejenn Tchia (Host & Founder of The Limitless Dentist) Dr. Aniko Ball (Founder of Optimum Dental Posture) Dr. Amanda Phoon Nguyen (Oral Medicine Specialist, Academic, and Founder of A Spoonful of Oral Medicine), and Dr. Kyle Stanley (Founder of Light Side) to share some of the top strategies and tactics with some practical implementation on how to eliminate and prevent burnout without quitting the job when going through the tough times and unlock the Limitless Dentist we were born to be! With my excitement and honour, I would like to invite dental colleagues locally and internationally to join this event supported together with some of the great dentists around the world ! Click the link below to register and join this upcoming Free 6-day Live Confidence Building Virtual Event https://www.thelimitlessdentist.com.au/pl/271814 Let's welcome and make 2021 our best year together ! #steponfear #thelimitlessdentist #dentistry #confidencechallenge

This was the greatest compliment I have ever received about a speaking engagement! It was @thefacd a few years ago where I discussed mindfulness and stress reduction in our profession. Thank you @muaddibbs for sharing your story with us and the nice words

No doc, I don’t grind my teeth. . So many of our patients grind their teeth but why? Is it stress? That’s what I used to think. My newest beliefs revolve more around airway issues leading to sleep problems. There is some research showing correlations between bruxism and obstructive sleep apnea and the more I learn about facial growth, airways and sleep, the more I lean in this direction. I am excited for this section of dentistry and medicine to continue to answer so many of the questions we may still have! In the meantime, I encourage all dental professionals to start exploring sleep medicine, airway prosthodontics, etc. Follow people like @jeffreyrouse @thebraceplace_ @drvictordds @rbockow @breathe_institute to learn more #sleep #airwayprosthodontics #airwayorthodontics #skeletalgrowth #jawdevelopment #palatalexpander

My goal in 2021 is the same goal I had at the beginning of 2019. Please see the below caption from my New Years post on January 1st 2019 and help spread the word to help our colleagues who may be suffering... My wish for 2019 is that the dental profession can be more open about the mental health epidemic we have. **Dentists are 2X more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression and panic disorder **Dentists are 17X more likely to commit suicide **72% of us are actively f...earful of being sued **The average dentist graduates with $287,000 in student loans **Over 90% of us have experienced musculoskeletal pain _______________________________________ My goal is to help stop the stigma of mental health issues such as depression and anxiety because we have all been there. Let’s be more open about discussing our problems with our colleagues, spouses and friends so that we can unite in our struggles to overcome them. If you haven’t heard me speak about my struggles, I have discussed them on some podcasts (Coffee Break with @chriscoachman , etc) but when I made the jump to start lecturing on this topic, it actually helped me a ton! I found out that I wasn’t alone. Let’s talk to each other and remove this stigma so that we can help more patients smile and live long healthy lives. If you are going through hard times and need someone to chat with, please DM me as I’m happy to share my story. I love our profession and the amazing things we can do but I can’t sit back while many of our colleagues commit suicide. Peace and love in 2019 and I look forward to meeting many of my IG friends in person this year. Edit: ignore the fact that I say 2009 at the end #lightsidedentistry #dentalmentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #dentistmentalhealth

I have been on stage my whole life. From dance to rock n roll bands to eventually public speaking. I have missed being on stage this year. My life before dentistry heavily revolved around music. Ahhhh those were the days. This is probably from around 2002 or 2003 #rocknroll
