Black ribbons flying today. This morning we held a moment of silence where we all hung out. For those who missed this mornings events we will hold another moment of silence and share our favorite memories. As a club, Tony was our brother and our friend. Friends and family of Drivers Wanted, the SFV VW scene, and of our brother Baja Tony - having spoken to Tony's family, we've decided to hold a COVID-era memorial cruise-by Tony's home and then on to one of his favorite spots for grub. Please meet at our regular meeting spot Sunday, at 11:15am to partake in signing a card for Tony's family that will be presented by the club and on behalf of all of Tony's VW Family. As tragic and painful as loss is, and we've all had to face t...his grief in the last year, there is a silver lining in knowing that Tony passed away peacefully in his home. So it's appropriate to swing by his house one more time, pay our respects, show love to his son and daughter and their families, and wave goodbye to our friend and brother, Baja Tony Lopez. This will not be an opportunity to park and visit; but we will do two "laps" passed his home we will cruise to get lunch and depart from there.

Always quiet, humble, and smiling. I'm saddened to have learned that "Baja Tony" Lopez passed away earlier this month. Drivers Wanted members, I urge you to join us tomorrow. We will be holding a moment of silence for our friend, member, and brother at 7:30am before our scheduled cruise to Ventura. A cruise that Tony will no doubt be riding with us in spirit. If you can't make it in the morning, please come to our regular 5pm meet as we will also hold a moment of silence and... share our favorite memories in celebration of his life at 7:30pm. Both will be at our regular meet spot in Porter Ranch.

As discussed last night, we will roll out of Porter Ranch at 8am sharp! Parking is $10 per car! So don't forget to bring a few bucks!

All clubs and solo riders are invited to join us on a backcountry cruise to Ventura Vintage Volkswagens Volks upcoming Pier Beach Day on February 27th. We'll be meeting at our regular spot at 7am and rolling out at 8am via the old farmland highway 118.

HEY DRIVERS! Anyone with a clean VW Beetle from the 1970s who would like to get their car into a TV production, I have a call out for this Sunday at Disney Ranch in Newhall for period VWs. Send your pictures to Brendon at [email protected] and he will forward them to his contact to make decisions. This is short notice, but still a great and FUN opportunity! Requirements - Stock or very close to stock, period accessories okay, need to be relatively clean cars (no patina) and available to be in Newhall this Sunday.

Happy Friday, Drivers! Tomorrow morning we will be cruising to visit our friends at Ventura Vintage Volkswagens Chapter of Vintage Volkswagen Club of America and their new swap meet event. Meet at Porter Ranch tomorrow at 6:30am bright and early, head out at 7am and come back when it's over. This does not preclude our regular meet! If you cannot make it tomorrow morning, we'll still be back in Porter Ranch at 5pm for our regularly scheduled meet!

Our 13th anniversary cruise. Lunch at Neptunes Net and then a roll to point mugu. I've been with this club where we roll 3 deep and then where we roll 40 deep. It doesn't matter, so long as we are with good friends.

Brendon here. Went up to Porter Ranch on a test drive to make sure our spot is open. July 4th can get super busy but our area looks as normal as can be. I'll be back up there in an hour. I would suggest everyone come earlier just in case. We have a couple ideas for a back up meet, including Don who volunteered last weekend :P Worst case scenario - we still have our anniversary cruise tomorrow.
