"A number of people who use acupuncture for chronic pain report benefits. For example, an analysis of 29 studies with a total of 17,922 participants with back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, chronic headache and shoulder pain found that people with those conditions experienced significantly more relief with acupuncture than those who had no treatment." #ChronicPain #Acupuncture #PainRelief

The group receiving medications had a total effective rate of 68%. For the acupuncture and herbal medicine group, 53% of patients experienced a total recovery, 37% experienced effective relief, and 10% of patients did not respond to care. For the medication group, 42% of patients had a total recovery, 26% experienced effective relief, and 32% of patients did not respond to care." #Acupuncture #Fertility #HerbalMedicine #TCM

"You can think of the difference between IVF and Chinese medicine as one of quantity versus quality. IVF is fundamentally a numbers gamemore eggs are available so the odds go upwhereas Chinese medicine seeks something more holistic. IVF focuses mainly on the uterus and ovaries, while Chinese medicine focuses on the whole body, as well as the mind and spirit. The idea is that if the woman is in balance, she’s more likely to support a healthy pregnancy." #IVF #Fertility #Acupuncture #HerbalMedicine
"The study, published in the Journal of Clinical Acupuncture, examined 60 female patients who were struggling to conceive due to hyperprolactinemia, a condition where there are higher levels of the hormone prolactin than normal in the blood. The hormone can disrupt a woman’s menstrual cycle and can cause problems in reproducing. Dr. Hu said women hoping to become mums were helped in two weeks after receiving acupuncture therapy while those using bromocriptine, or bromocriptine plus clomiphene, had their hormone levels balance after four."
