So, this precious little filly finally decided to make her grand debut after making us wait 372 (!) days. While that’s just at the upper end of a normal gestation period, it’s a personal record for a mare under my care. You just can’t rush Mother Nature, nor apparently this little Golden Girl And, to answer the can’t you just induce labor? question...NO! The foal determines parturition timing, and to induce labor puts the foal at grave risk. Patience for your patient is the best medicine (in this case)
