Long day in the OR deserves some chill time with Bones
Watching Diana throw down her crutches and take her few few steps in over 5 months gives me hope. Hope that through the toughest times we can all dig deep get sh#t done. Diana wheeled into my office for a second opinion with tears after her Achilles' tendon repair went south. A gaping whole in the back her leg and tendon edges hanging out, redness, swelling pus and pain. It was nothing you'd ever want to see attached to you. But she took it head on, stay focused and positive. Her surgery was a great success. She's a badass and proved that we always have the good fight in us. Need a therapist in LA? She talks the talk and cam finally walk the walk :)
Roni he been a patient and a friend to the office and me for a while now. She has had a bad wheel and has paid her dues. Diabetes is a beast but this woman fought back and has proven perseverance pays off. I love her determination and will to live her best life possible. Happy 2021 Roni, may this be a good one for you !
I think he's off to a good start

This guy was 55 years old with lots of wear and tear in his ankle. Multiple sprains amd injuries left his ankle tight, inflamed and painful with motion and activity. What looks like cotton candy in the joint is known as synovitis or scar tissue. Arthroscopy removes this joint destructor along with other fragments that can cause further injury. The result is a relatively pain free post op course with greater motion, less pain and more mobility. Keep moving. Get better.
Charcot Neuroarthrppathy is a severe foot deformity. Peripheral neuropathy and diabetes are the number one cause. Triggered by uncontrolled diabetes, neuropathy and blood flow issues, the foot begins to collapse, fragment / fracture and dislocate. This first phase left untreated can be devastating as life long deformity will prevail which can lead to ulcers, infections and amputations. Surgical correction is paramount to realign and give folks back their quality of life. It...'s not without potential perils but attention to detail and a multidisciplinary approach can be a recipe to success. These pics depict a patients normal foot followed by acute Charcot collapse and eventual reconstruction. I give my patients all the credit. They all so tough and take this challenge on in the face of adversity and fear. I feel it's my job to deliver the best result possible. My colleagues are pivotal in the teamwork approach and I'm fortunate to have such a great team of people. See more
This dude totally pimped his ride ! But I'd expect nothing less. Broke both Talus bones after missing a jump during a motor cross race, ended up at a hospital not fit to perform his surgery, came up to St. John's a few days later, underwent a 5 hour procedure to put him back together spent a few days in the hospital during covid no less, always had a smile and an attitude like a true champ. I always tell my patients I have the easy job no matter how impressed they may be by the xrays or outcome. I am always humbled by folks like Brendan who handle life's challenges with such poise and grace. This dude will be back pushing the limits in no time, this you can count on.
Syd is skeptical about these new Elmo running shoes. I told him if folks bought into the Vibrams it'll be just fine :) NEW YORK APPOINTMENTS LA TO NYC CALL 310-395-5025

Haglunds deformity can be a game changer. . Debilitating pain in the back of the heel that doesn't respond to many conservative modalities. The spurs or calcified fragments that form in the back of the foot and ankle can wreck havoc on the Achilles' tendon and soft tissue. Surgery entails reflecting the Achilles off the area, removing all spurs and offending fragments, Achilles repair and Achilles reattachment Post op patients are in a splint for 2 weeks then progress to... walking boot and PT. Results are great and athletes are back full speed without a hitch. Demand better. See more
Sunday morning runners high, check
Neuroma surgery is the real deal. You very carefully dissect out diseased nerve tissue that has lost it ability to propagate impulses to the toes. Years or friction, pressure, pounding and stress to the area create the myriad of symptoms patients present with. Numbness, tingling, burning, pain, cramping to name a few. The pic is a worth a thousand words. No way cortisone, PRP, Orthotics, ablation or alchohol injections gonna take this beast of an injury. The central core i...s the mass and the roots on either side are what the whole nerve should look like. Today's athlete won't miss a beat and will be back In shoes in a few short weeks!
