Had an an amazing evening last night at LABioMed's "Leaders in Cardiology" Gala honoring one of the most influential cardiologists in our generation: Dr J. Michael Criley. Almost half of the cardiology fellows that have ever trained at Harbor-UCLA came together to celebrate his 50th anniversary at Harbor. It was truly remarkable to hear the many stories from the luminary speakers, including Supervisor Janice Hahn, Dr Bruce Brundage, Dr Matt Budoff, and Dr Ray Matthews. Among...st the many amazing achievements of Dr. Criley, his pioneering work with the LA County EMS and paramedic program cannot be overstated in terms of the impact and legacy of saving countless lives today. Congratulations Dr. Criley on the numerous contributions to the field of cardiology and shaping the careers of generations of physicians! #50years #dedication #livinglegend

I was lucky enough to get a personal tour today of the new UFC headquarters and Performance Institute, led by none other than UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin. We had a great discussion about the role of technology and advanced training techniques to keep the athletes in top form. It was amazing to meet the dedicated staff including nutritionists, trainers, and biomechanics experts. I look forward to further discussions with Forrest about bringing some of these advanced techniques to Southern California!
