Facial Liposuction & Buccal Fat Reduction This lovely patient desired to slim her lower face, especially at the region of the jowls. To achieve her goal, I performed micro-liposuction and buccal fat reduction under local anesthesia. Very small cannulas were used during the micro-liposuction to precisely contour the lower face. Although she was awake, she was very comfortable and had no pain during the procedure. She had a quick recovery and is now enjoying her refined facial ...contour without any visible scars. Facial liposuction is a highly advanced procedure and requires great expertise to achieve successful results. It is critical that the procedure is performed on the appropriate person. The amount of superficial fat, position of fat, structure of the face, and skin elasticity are some of the elements evaluated when determining a proper candidate for facial liposuction. The procedure must be performed with precision and finesse using very small cannulas designed for micro-liposuction. Post-Injury Rhinoplasty A rhinoplasty and septoplasty were performed to straighten the nose and improve breathing. Our patient was unfortunately trampled by a horse approximately a decade before presenting to me. This resulted in deviation of her nose and nasal obstruction that was so severe that she was only able to breathe through her mouth. In addition to wanting to improve her breathing, she desired to straighten her nose while maintaining her natural appearance.... I performed a functional rhinoplasty with septoplasty using an external (open) approach. The external approach provides optimal visualization and access to the structures of the nose. An important step in the case was to straighten the septum. This involved releasing a significant amount of scar tissue that had formed due to the trauma. The fractured and deviated cartilage at the center of the septum was removed, and the remainder of the cartilage was repositioned in a straight position. A sufficient amount of cartilage was maintained at the septum to ensure adequate support of the nose. I utilized a specialized suturing technique (clocking sutures) to help with straighting the septum. In addition, I created a caudal septal extension graft from her own cartilage to provide support for the tip of the nose. The remaining structural elements of the nose were then able to be aligned based on the straight and strong foundation. Revision Facelift & Neck Lift Our lovely patient had a facelift and neck lift performed several years prior by another surgeon, but she desired further improvement. She also wanted to recreate the original shape of her earlobes, which had developed a stretched appearance due to excessive tension from her prior facelift. Botox for Crow's Feet Our lovely patient desired a nonsurgical approach to turn back the clock on aging. Botox treatment was performed to reduce the wrinkles around her eyes. Dynamic wrinkles are formed during facial expression, such as smiling. Muscle contraction creates grooves in the skin, which over time can lead to permanent wrinkles. The goal of neuromodulator treatment is to weaken the muscle contraction that causes wrinkles. There are several neuromodulator products... currently on the market, and these include Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin. Although the effect of neuromodulator treatments is most noticeable during facial expression, wrinkles visible at rest can also be improved to a certain extent. Gummy Smile Treatment Our beautiful patient received 4 units of Botox to treat her gummy smile. There are several muscles associated with the upper lip and smiling, and the appropriate muscles must be targeted in order to reduce the amount of gingival display, while maintaining a beautiful and natural appearing smile. Identifying the cause of the gummy smile is important when determining whether Botox or other neuromodulators are an appropriate treatment option. Gummy smil...e, also referred to as excessive gingival display, can be due to soft tissue and/or bone related reasons. For example, gummy smile can be due to hyperactivity of muscles that control the upper lip, a short upper lip, overgrowth of the jaw, and/or excess gingival tissue. Facelift A lower facelift and neck lift were performed to treat the jowls and loose tissues of the neck. Through the facelift incision, the cheeks were also lifted. A lower eyelid blepharoplasty was performed to reposition bulging fat pads and remove excess skin. During her surgery, a fractional CO2 laser was also used to help improve skin quality. These procedures have yielded quite a beautiful transformation! We achieved her goals of attaining a more youthful appearance wit...hout any noticeable signs of surgery Avoiding excessive skin tension during the design of a facelift is critical in order to achieve natural appearing results and unnoticeable scars. Tension on the skin will cause scars to widen and can lead to a pixie ear deformity (pulled appearance of earlobes). In order to adequately lift the sagging parts of the face without having to pull tightly on the skin, various facial ligaments need to be released appropriately. After this dissection is performed, the deeper layers (such as the SMAS) can be lifted and secured to a more youthful position. The overlying skin can then be re-draped without tension.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty This lovely patient desired to treat her upper eyelid hooding, which bothered her the majority of her life. Comprehensive treatment would involve performing a brow lift and upper blepharoplasty, but she desired a conservative approach. I solely performed a conservative upper blepharoplasty under local anesthesia, and what a difference it has made. She now has a visible eyelid platform to which she can apply makeup. We avoided visible scars and maintained a very natural appearance.

Neuromodulator Chin Treatment Botox was used for this lovely patient to improve the contour of her chin, reduce chin dimpling, and soften the mental crease (the indentation between the chin and the lower lip). She was a great candidate for this treatment considering her extremely hyperactive mentalis muscle. The before and after photographs were taken with her at rest and demonstrate the dramatic improvement that can be achieved with proper injection technique. - Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin can be a great option for select patients to improve the appearance of the chin without the use of surgery or fillers. The treatment works by targeting and relaxing the mentalis muscle.
