When I'm not in the office, I'm in nature. Today I had an adventure in my garden.
And back in Oakland
Visiting our great winter wonderland 3+ hours north. Time for some fresh air!
Day 17 and still eating clean! I love my hydroflask. Today's lunch is parsnip leek soup!
Monday Funday, day 15 for me: whoever said fresh oregano can't be part of breakfast?
Lucky [day] 13 of whole 30. Feeling Lucky to be in a redwood grove right now!
Day 12 of my cleanse and still finding ways to use the leftover holiday cranberries. Modalities scheduled for this weekend include IR sauna, Epson salt bath w aroma therapy and exercise. What's on your agenda?
Hard to tell from the picture :)
Consider weaning off coffee as part of your cleanse. I'm down to 1/4 oz. Tomorrow I'm going for zero!
Calf creek... A waterfall 3 miles into the middle of the desert. It was a really hot hike, but the water was too cold to swim in. On the upside, we got to soak our feet in ice water a few times before the arduous hike back.
Beautiful Bryce sunrise. Thanks Marm for taking this fun picture of us!
We recently visited the Big 5 (Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion) and Escalante National Monument in Utah, and my favorite new experience was hiking the slot canyons!
This was just an idea that turned into an unexpected delight! Has anyone boiled carrots with a giant cinnamon stick before? Sooo good!
Introducing the newest addition to our healing modality collection! Wanting to supplement your detox program with an ionic foot bath? Well, we now have that treatment available. Send me a message, and I'll fill you in on the details. This January we'll be offering 21 and 28 day cleanse packages that include ionic foot bath treatments!
I cooked the ling in parchment paper to help preserve the moisture, and the resulting "juice" is great over vegetables!
What's on my menu tonight? New Zealand ling!
I'm experimenting with some new flavor combinations tonight: peas with green onion, dill, chicken bone broth and sea salt from Gozo!
Well, I just completed the second covid antibody test for the TemPredict study. This one was pretty gory compared to the first. Just in time to get me prepped for Halloween,
Sometimes getting enough carbohydrates in your diet can be really difficult when you have specific grain allergies. Buckwheat is usually a safe green for most, and in the raw form it contains quite a bit of carbohydrates compared to when it's cooked. Buckwheat groats can definitely fill in the gaps when your food plan includes mostly animal protein and vegetables/fruits and you wish to balance carbs, fat and protein. Here I've mixed my Groats in with sauerkraut to soften them up a bit. I try to eat sauerkraut at least once a day to get my Prebiotic support.
Hot spring adventure 9/25/20 morning: have you ever wished you could jump into one of the painted pots in Yellowstone? Well, we got to do just that (except not as hot at the boiling pots in yellowstone) at Meadow hot springs in Fillmore Utah. Pictured here are two of the three hot springs in the middle of nowhere on private property used for grazing cattle. The first one was the hottest, and we had a really nice swim as we socially distance watched some young men try to reach the bottom. This crater was at least 30 ft deep. The second pool is warm, and the third and largest, not pictured here, is like a cold swimming pool. This place was really neat.
Hot springs adventure 9/25/20: Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe, UT was amazing! We had the place to ourselves, and it was a truly magical experience. The energy there was really something special. The entire place was alive, and I felt like this must have been what it was like to be in Mammoth at the north entrance of Yellowstone as that gigantic rainbow mountain was developing.
Hot spring adventure 9/29/20: the abandoned Mountain Spaa in Midway, UT. Nothing to see here except some ruins and bee boxes. You can see in the third picture a hot spring crater surrounded by fencing. I suppose it's easy for animals to fall in at night. The last picture is a bird's eye view of two other Mt. Spaa craters. We never found out if there is still hot water in them or if they sealed themselves up with all their calcium carbonite deposits.
