When it comes to personal inspiration every runner’s story is different. But one common theme that runs through every story of inspiration is a desire to persevere. Whether trough adversity, towards a goal, to find something you didn’t know was there...perseverance and inspiration go hand in hand. ... And whether you consciously think about it or not, every day you step out the door and run you are persevering and inspiring. Maybe to yourself, maybe to somebody else, maybe to somebody you don’t even know is paying attention to your actions. So let’s train, run, laugh, love, live, be inspired and inspiring, let’s persevere, and let’s make the most of what we have left of 2020!!! Plyometrics are a fantastic tool for an experienced runner to run faster and hit a new PR. But, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind and be cautious of before attempting any sort of plyometrics. Periodization, or the use of training cycles, is the true magic bullet when training to hit a new pr. If you work with an experienced coach to build out a periodized training plan based on: your current fitness, time till your goal race, and goal pr, it will take a lot of the guess work or mystery out of racing, and is one of the best ways to avoid injury.
