Did you know that balloon endoscopic sinus surgery (a type of nasal surgery) has been shown to be an effective surgery for chronic or severe sinusitis? It’s a minimally invasive procedure that does not involve any cutting or loss of nasal tissue, and has a very short recovery time! So - how does it work? By widening blocked nasal passages through dilation, the nose can be easily cleared and drained. At our office, we offer balloon endoscopic surgery as a same day sinus surgery (in office) with no general anesthesia.

In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we want to assure everyone that we are taking several precautionary measures in our office to protect our patients and staff. First, we are screening appointment phone calls by ensuring patients who are coming into our office have not traveled in the last four weeks or are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as dry cough or fever. Second, we are sanitizing the waiting room hourly, along with wiping down our sign-in pen between eac...h use. Third, we are reducing patient flow by 20% in order to allow time for sanitizing each room between every patient. We are also making our new patient paperwork easily accessible so you can fill it out beforehand and save time waiting in our waiting room. Additionally, employees are mandated to wash hands every 30 minutes. Finally, we are offering calls for patients waiting in their cars to see the doctor, letting them know their room is available in order to require no time spent waiting in our office waiting room. We would also like to add that our new remodeled office is under strict guidelines to maintain the utmost cleanliness with the highest standards of sanitizing and disinfectant protocols. #covid_19 #stayhealthy #useprecaution #ent #wereopen #ears #nose #throat #newportbeach @ Newport Beach, California See more

Reminder: if you’re going to a loud concert it’s critically important that you bring ear plugs. Consistent exposure to loud music can damage your ears and potentially cause tinnitus, a condition that causes constant ringing in your ears. There are many manufacturers who produce specialized earplugs for concerts that filter out harmful frequencies without reducing the fidelity of the music. #themoreyouknow #tinnitus #protectyourears #hearingloss #ent #ears #newportbeachhearingaidassociates

While infected tonsils (tonsillitis) are often looked at as a mild discomfort, it can lead to more serious health issues. One common myth of infected tonsils is that it only causes sore throat. Many people don’t know this but the nose does more than just help us smell. Noses also contribute to how we perceive taste. Humans detect flavor using a combination or smell, taste and texture. #funfacts #ears #nose #throat #ent #smell #taste #drchironis #orangecounty #otolaryngologist

The apocrine gland in your inner ear creates wax. When you are stressed or afraid, the gland increases production of wax. The gland is also responsible for sweat, which has the same response to stress and fear. #wax #apocrinegland #ears #funfacts #ent #drchironis #waxblockage #hearingloss #orangecounty
