When asked where he saw himself in 10 years during Fullerton Union High's "Mr. Fullerton" competition, a male student said that he hoped to find the love of his life, to marry him, and that he hoped for the legalization of gay marriage. After his response, an Assistant Principal escorted the student from the Plummer Auditorium stage and disqualified him from the competition. Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns? Support? Feel free to sound off with your (intelligent/non-hateful) comments.
*EPIC FAIL ROLL-CALL* Dear Nelvin Cook (AKA "Mr. Orange," pictured, Los Angeles), Randolph Long (Houston); Devon Ridge (Compton); Obiesie Enwezor (Los Angeles); and Jayson Coleman (Los Angeles): Next time you get the itch to come play Reservoir Dogs in the streets of Fullerton, instead, think about staying home with the Playstation and some cookies & milk.... Downtown Fullerton wholeheartedly stands behind All Phases Jewelry for protecting their business. We're glad the good guys are okay; it's becoming more and more rare these days...
...in case you were wondering what all the commotion was on Wilshire Ave -- cops, news vans, people gathering, and a suspect's clothes and shoes in the middle of the brick apartment building's parking lot... http://www.ocregister.com/n/suspects-344997-siko-store.html
This parking structure is now located at the former site of the Fender Guitar Gallery (with the factory being I believe on Valencia?). This site is located next to the Fullerton Train station. There is a mural on the structure with a picture of Leo Fender. Keith Richards, upon being inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, exclaimed "Thank God for Leo Fender, who makes these instruments for us to play." Indeed, Leo's contribution to making music compares to what Henry Ford did for driving and Levi Strauss did for dressing. Leo later moved on to create G&L Musical Instruments, along with George Fullerton, and Dale Hyatt (also in Fullerton). Leo Fender is a FUHS Alumni and today, we salute his contribution to music and to Fullerton!
We wish that the amateurs that keep puking on our sidewalks, parking lots, and favorite bar urinals had made and/or kept a "no more binge drinking" resolution as of the 1st of the year... Make it to the toilet & take a cab, or stay home kiddies.
I realize we didn't have much of a winter, but a downtown summer is always on my mind...
Fall is here! Rains are coming! Shorter days! Longer nights! Halloween is on its way.... What are you going to be this year?!!? Where are you going?
