Heavy Snow Overnight- SLOW down, give yourself extra time & provide extra room around emergency vehicles & snow removal equipment. Officers and volunteers are o...n scene at numerous traffic collisions and spinouts throughout town. Estimated times for tow trucks is increasing. It is begining to snow again and heavy snow is expected throughout the day. Let's all give each other extra space and reduce our speed to prevent collisions and injury. Drive Safe!

If you plan to make the drive up to Tahoe this weekend, or if you're just trying to get around town, please be prepared for winter driving conditions. Bring cha...ins, make sure your tires are in acceptable condition, be prepared for heavy traffic, and pack your PATIENCE. Into this afternoon we expect a transition to snow showers; scattered showers with pockets of heavier cells with quick snow accumulations. This could result in a slow afternoon/evening commute. This evening into early Friday morning, refreezing will be a factor for untreated roadways sidewalks, and parking areas. Please increase your following distances, give each other extra room, and take it SLOW. Just because there is a posted speed limit, does NOT mean that it’s the safe speed in snow conditions.
