San Jose City Council votes to require prevailing wage pay from contractors getting subsidies from the city for certain private construction projects.

If you work on a California public works project, check your paycheck. Workers on California public works projects must be paid at least minimum wage. Employers are required to pay at least California minimum wage for the basic hourly rate in all cases where the published prevailing wage rate is below the California minimum wage.
