Celebrate safely this Halloween, no matter which mask you’re wearing. #HappyHalloween #Hellohumankindness
With #COVID-19 cases surging in many areas of the country, CommonSpirit Health CEO Lloyd Dean spoke with Axios recently about how hospitals have worked hard to prepare, and how wearing a mask is the most important thing you can do to help. #wearamask Listen here: https://dignityhlth.org/35Thx57
It’s #RespiratoryCareWeek, and we’re celebrating our team for their contributions to patient care throughout the hospital. Our #respiratorytherapists have worked tirelessly as part of our COVID-19 response, and we are very thankful for them.
For #FirstRespondersDay, we honor those who help make our communities--and our world--safer. #Hellohumankindness
Countless patients, visitors, and employees have taken enjoyment in watching Dominican Hospital's large Koi fish and striped turtles in the hospital's Norman and Maureen Benito Surgery Courtyard pond as they go about their business. Recently we discovered that one of our turtles, Squirtle, had been injured. Our Koi specialist, Dan Rutledge of Pond Life, was kind enough to take Squirtle to the vet, where it was discovered she had broken her shelllikely from getting stuck in ...the pond rocks. This was the equivalent of a human breaking a major bone, and required serious care. Squirtle needed antibiotic shots every three days, daily clean bedding, and a place to stay out of the water every night for a month. Dan volunteered to house Squirtle and provide her with this specialized care for the next month! #Hellohumankindness We are happy to say that under Dan’s watch, Squirtle is recuperating beautifully and should be able to return to her Dominican home soon!!

We've been celebrating National Pharmacy Week at our hospitals over the past seven days. Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians make invaluable contributions to the hospital and to the health and comfort of patients. Our dedicated Pharmacy teams continually work to educate our patients and promote safe and effective use of medication. #Gratitude
We are honoring our Infection Prevention professionals during International Infection Prevention Week. COVID-19 has shown the world what we’ve always knowninfection preventionists (IPs) are essential to keeping the world safe. Please be sure to thank them for the significant role they play in keeping us all safe and healthy!
This month, for #BreastCancerAwareness, get checked. Encourage your family members and friends to get checked. Be the community needed to help a stranger power through cancer treatment. Attend a walk (virtually or in-person) and donate to cancer research. Every little thing makes a difference.
By swapping out its plastic needle counters in the OR with ones made of sugar cane, Dignity Health has been able to eliminate 10 tons of single-use plastic from its hospitals. WOW! Read the full press release here: https://dignityhlth.org/37uQ4c8
