DOMA Studio 24.03.2021

Many of our newest teachers have come out of their monitoring period and are flyin free. I usually take all our brand new instructor’s classes for at least 3 weeks to get them used to teaching, the side work and to offer them feedback. After that, it’s all them, they get to experience being in charge of all the things. Our teachers are really showing up in big ways and I’m so proud of them! They are working hard, staying educated, busting down fear and literally killing it (...and me) in their classes, I freakin love it! As a trainer and studio owner their success is my success, them feeling confident, competent and thriving is exactly why I’m here! I am so thrilled for the newest set of trainees to come in and experience the same life giving change. If you have been considering training, wondering if it’s for you, if it’s worth the time, the money or the commitment, then my response is look at our trainees, take their classes and see them thriving, teaching with confidence, compassion and competency! They are the proof of how powerful this training really is. You all rock and this is just the beginning! It’s all up

Side plank or Vasisthasana is an excellent way to build strength and stability. This posture targets your oblique muscles, strengthens your wrists and shoulders and improves overall balance. It also asks you to engage your whole body so you can allow your body to work more like a team, this way you can avoid injury and maximize what you get out of everything you do. Ready for an easy way to combat stress? SLEEP, proper rest can help you tackle the days stressors. Make an effort to get enough sleep each night, this varies for the individual but usually between 6-8 hours is recommended. Adequate rest can also help combat weight gain, depression symptoms, and high blood pressure just to name a few! Who’s ready for bed?!

It offers us a wonderful opportunity to learn and give you more of what you want, which has always been part of the foundation of DOMA. As such, we will be making some changes moving forward. Starting Monday, we will be discontinuing our livestream classes to focus on outdoor classes and video content on our library instead. Standing bow helps to stimulate the cardiovascular system and increases circulation to the heart and lungs. It also opens the shoulder joints and thoracic spine to improve overall posture and spinal flexibility.

Astringent is our final taste in Ayurveda and is comprised of the elements air and ether making it light and dry, even sometimes described as if it removes moisture from the body. Because of this kapha dosha does well with the astringent taste, where pitta and vata would enjoy very little of this on their plates. Some examples of astringent foods would be pomegranates, green bananas, cranberries and cauliflower.
