I got caught sleeping on the job
Back at work at Dogwood Springs Forestry. It has been a while!
In San Juan Lachao, Oaxaca to work with verifiers on the Climate Action Reserve's first forest carbon project in Mexico. It was difficult to get any news regarding the election but there was a rumor Trump will be our president. This community forest project is a tremendous example of sustainable management that is providing many social, economical, and environmental benefits. Forest management provides over 50 jobs to the residents of the community. The forest benefits from revenue sources from both timber harvest and carbon sales. We had observers from Puebla, Campeche, and Sinaloa.
Some of Dogwood Springs Forestry pine lumber put do good use. The wood is from trees that died in the Valley Fire last September that Tom Bendure and I milled.
We are finally moving some of the fire-killed trees to the mill....in China!
