13.03.00 JAM IN TRAY X(where x = tray #) A jam has occurred in the specified location. This jam occurs when the product cannot move paper from the specified tray into the... paper path. 1. Inspect the paper path and remove any obstructions. 2. Verify that the tray is not loaded incorrectly or overfilled. 3. For Trays 3, 4, 5, or 6, verify that the trays are stacked correctly. 4. Verify that the media meets HP media specifications. 5. Verify the paper size adjustment guide has been set properly. Believe it or not, a lot of paper jams can be resolved by removing all of the paper in the tray and inspecting the paper itself. Is it stacked incorrectly? Are some of the corners bent causing a "bump" in the stack? Lastly, #5 above can be caused by a broken/cracked paper size adjustment guide. Call us, each technician has them in their "car stock".
