dk Engineering’s project The Reserve was featured in the City of Pleasant Hill’s City at Work 2020 Engineering for the Future newsletter. The Reserve by Ponderosa Homes (Under Construction) Boyd Road and Pleasant Hill Road The first model home for this 17 single-family home development is expected to open this summer. Public improvements for the 4.4 acre project include: public right-of-way frontage and median improvements, landscaping, retaining walls, undergrounding of exis...ting overhead utility lines, stormwater treatment and retention facilities, and new pedestrian pathways. The developer has completed on-site infrastructure improvements including private streets; underground utility work; retaining walls and utility connections on Boyd Road and Pleasant Hill Road. dk Interim Work Policy Hello everyone, Due to the order issued by the Contra Costa County Health Services, dk is required to move to a temporary remote work policy for the next three weeks. Contra Costa County is one of nine San Francisco Bay Area Counties that has been directed to Shelter in Place until April 7. Effective Tuesday, March 17 and through Tuesday, April 7 our entire staff will be working from home. Just to be clear, as of this date no one at our company has been... infected with COVID-19. All of our staff are fully equipped to work remotely and we anticipate that this will create minimal disruption for you. We are still "open for business" and you can still reach your dk contacts through email or by phone - either dialing their dk phone extension through our main number (1-925-932-6868) or calling their mobile phones. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully and make adjustments as appropriate based on current conditions and available information. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we manage this situation and work through unforeseen obstacles. We are here to answer any questions you should have and assist you. Please review the following FAQ's that we hope will help to answer any of your immediate questions. 1. How do I connect with my dk Engineering team? All of our employees that do not have schedule vacation will be available to you during local business hours via email or phone. 2. Could the temporary remote policy be extended? We will continue to monitor the situation carefully and make adjustments as appropriate based on current conditions and available information. Due to unforeseen additional orders from the state and/or local government we are unable to determine whether the date will be extended. Employees will receive communications of any changes. 3. Will business or project plans be adjusted based on this temporary remote work update? dk Project Managers monitor the project deliverable and deadlines on an ongoing basis to identify solutions to support attaining our objectives. We are hopeful to maintain all current work schedules as planned. As noted, we will continue to monitor conditions carefully and make adjustments as appropriate based on developing conditions and available information. Thank you for your patience and understanding. dk Engineering welcomes Angela Pedroncelli, Associate Engineer! Angela Pedroncelli is a Civil Engineer with almost five years of experience in land development. She brings project management and design experience to development projects from entitlement through construction document approval. Angela’s portfolio includes residential subdivisions, townhomes, and apartment complexes throughout Northern California. Her professional experience includes site, street, underground utility and grading design. Angela is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California and she has a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis. In her free time Angela enjoys skiing, swimming, cooking, and outdoor exploring with friends and family.

dk Engineering welcomes Michael Baltazar, Survey Technician! Michael Baltazar recently graduated from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management with an emphasis in Civil Engineering. His work experience to date has been centered in the Land Surveying field. In the public sector, he was involved with construction staking and traverse surveys of wastewater collection systems. Currently he is expanding his knowledge and skills as a Survey Technician as he works on topographic and ALTA surveys and base maps primarily for solar and wind farm projects. In his free time he enjoys archery, reading, attends concerts and comic conventions, and goes on scenic road trips with friends.

Scott Hartstein and Cal Poly Alum Andrew Duarte (pictured at our table) attended the event on Friday, January 17, 2020.
