It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the DISKOVERY CENTER at the Little Tokyo Service Center. After 14 great years, due to financial reasons, we close our doors and say goodbye to all of the wonderful programs and staff that helped to make this community center successful and help to change lives. From Japanese and English basic and advance computer classes, senior-based digital media filmmaking and writing courses, to youth-based DIY Media Productions, ou...r students have helped to make the work motivating but also meaningful to all involved. Please join us in saying a farewell to DISKovery CENTER on May 18th from 12noon-3pm at Diskovery Center. 353 E 1st St Los Angeles, CA 90012 It's a potluck!! Thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts, our mission and our work throughout the years. We couldn't have done this without you.

Both our Photography and Experimental Filmmaking classes came to a close yesterday. We have a presentation of all the students' work. We celebrate their hard work, creativity and bravery. Their works were personal, touching and inspiring. Congratulations DIY MEDIA STUDENTS!!

End of the semester for the DIY Media students at Central High. We celebrate today with cake and a presentation of photos and films! CONGRATULATIONS STUDENTS! We are so proud of your work!!!

We're off to see the Wizard....well, actually Paramount Studios! Today, the film students will tour the famous studios and learn a behind-the-scenes look at how Hollywood movies have been made for decades!
