Dixon Little League

Dear DLL Parents, After reviewing the latest State and local guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19, the Dixon Little League Board of Directors has voted to cancel our spring season. We held out hope to resume play in June but in light of current state, county, and city regulations we are unable to resume our season in the foreseeable future. This decision does not restrict us from playing this summer or fall should conditions improve and the DLL Board of Direct...ors will continue to evaluate all options. When Little League International formally canceled the 2020 international tournament they encouraged leagues to work together to provide opportunities in communities where the risk is low. We will stay in touch with other leagues in our district along with Solano County and City of Dixon officials. Ultimately, we will not resume play unless it's safe for our players, coaches, and families. We recognize the economic impact COVID-19 has had on our families and sponsors. For our spring season, most of our expenses were incurred prior to beginning play. This includes uniforms, equipment, the maintenance, and preparation for 5 fields, charters and liability insurance, and more. Based on our remaining funds and fundraising projections DLL is able to offer two options: 1. Receive a 50% refund of your paid registration. Families with multiple players can request a refund for each registered player. Credit card transactions will be issued back to the card on file. Cash and check payments will be issued checks. 2. Donate your registration fee refund to help DLL recoup costs and support future seasons. Those families who elect to donate their refund to DLL will receive a receipt of their donation for tax purposes. At this time we are still hoping to have a season once social restrictions are lifted or eased. The season may look different than prior seasons; it may be compressed and continue into the summer. Letter from our local President: Dear Dixon Little League Players and Families: On behalf of our volunteer Board of Directors I am writing to you with an update on our 2020 season as a follow up to our March 25 th note.... California District 64, under the direction from Little League International, continues to plan for resumption of the 2020 season upon easing of social distancing requirements. We will continue to monitor guidance from Little League leadership and will provide updates. Raffle ticket sales are now extended to May 30 with the raffle drawing now on June 6. We have established a contact-free ticket drop off point. Please drop your sold tickets and money in the house mailbox at 270 E. Chestnut St. Should our season come to an abrupt end we would be able to issue only minimal refunds based on season to date expenditures for uniforms and field supplies. As we previously communicated, raffle ticket sales are critically important to being able to continue our 2020 Little League season or, in the alternative, issue partial refunds. As a result we are extending the timeline for our raffle drawing. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
