Honored to be a part of the CEM Sunrise Breakfast at IAEM. The 5 pictured are those that have had their certification for 25 years. What an accomplishment!

Due to severe weather across much of the East Coast and ongoing response efforts, the national emergency alert test has been postponed to the backup date of Oct.... 3, 2018 at 2:18 PM EDT. Things to know: It’s a nationwide test of the same system (Wireless Emergency Alerts, or WEA) that pushes public emergency messages like AMBER alerts. The WEA system is overseen by FEMA & the Federal Communications Commission. This is different from a text message and your phone number is not shared with anyone. Presidential Alerts are one out of the three categories of alerts set by law. These are only for national emergencies and there is a process in place to draft and send the messages. If you have more questions about the test, visit the FAQ at fema.gov/emergency-alert-test.
