Let's talk about moisturizing and it's benefits to the skin. Moisturizing keeps the skin healthy and allows it to maintain elasticity and flexibility. It also can improve the texture and quality of the skin. Most of us associate moisturizing with our faces but it is beneficial to moisturize head to toe. Ladies, this includes your vulva! When moisturizing be sure to focus on the bikini line and the mons pubis (the top of your vulva). I suggest using a product without too many... ingredients to decrease the chances of irritation or an allergic reaction. @fur_you’s Fur Oil is a great option and I highly recommend it to my clients. It is 100% natural and contains anti-bacterial grape seed extract, jojoba oils, tea tree oils and clary sage seed oil soften your hair, clear pores and reduce inflammation. #esthetician #estheticianlife #bodywaxing #bikini #brazilianwax #sacramento #sacramentolife #sacproud #visitsacramento

Don’t shave (it is honestly ok if you do. I just don’t recommend it, but I’m not going to sit here and pretend I haven’t shaved my underarms or bikini line when I’m in a pinch)! Both hair removal methods get the job done but why is it we recommend waxing over shaving? There’s a LAUNDRY LIST of reasons! 1. ’ ! . We might be a little biased because most of us waxers wax ourselves. ... 2. . Shaving last about 24 hours. For me... it’s a five o’clock shadow situation. Personally, waxing lasts about three weeks, while for others it can last four to six weeks before it’s time to get waxed again. 3. . Waxing is considered semi-permanent hair removal. This is because removes hair below skin level, immediately weakening the hair follicle so hair grows back slower, thinner and less sparse over time. Shaving just cuts the hair at surface level (think about mowing a lawn). 4. . Unlike shaving, waxing doesn't result in those extra-sharp tips that are more likely to curl back into your skin. In that way, waxing can reduce your chances of getting an ingrown hair because it pulls the hair directly from the root. Soooo.... PUT THAT RAZOR DOWN! #esthetician #estheticianlife #bodywaxing #sacramento #sacramentolife #sacproud #visitsacramento #EXFOLIATE

"Are you using an exfoliant?" That is probably a pretty common question you have been asked either from me or another esthetician. Whether it be on your face or whole body, an exfoliant should be a regular part of your skincare routine. BUT WHY, MEGHAN? Exfoliating removes the upper layer of dead skin cells to reveal more vibrant skin. This helps with hyperpigmentation, age spots, dull/uneven skin and allows serums/moisturizers to better penetrate your skin. You can do this... by using a mechanical or chemical exfoliant. Mechanical exfoliants include brushes, abrasive gloves (which I use and highly suggest) or scrubs containing sugar/something similar to that texture. This unblocks pores, minimize blackheads and helps ingrown hairs to come to the surface. Chemical exfoliants are usually acids that dry and dissolve dead skin cells. You have probably heard me talk about @pfbvanish which is an awesome option for a chemical exfoliant to use on your body and helps coax out stubborn hairs. I hope this answers any questions you have. If you have any more, ask away!
