Emergency Water Shut-off. We have a water leak on Brown Street, just behind the Sinclair gas station. We have temporarily turned off the water and hope to have the leak repaired in a couple of hours. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We had to postpone the fix at Goodspeed and Brown Streets today to accommodate some businesses that needed to have water available. However, we are working on the one residential fix. We'll let you know when we reschedule!

Temporary Water Shut-off Monday, August 24, 2020 beginning at 8:00 A.M. for approximately 8 hours. Portions of the water system will be shutdown in order to repair and replace leaking valves at the intersection of Goodspeed and Brown Streets. At the same time, a shutoff valve will be installed at a neighboring residence on Florida Lane. Given the age and condition of the shut-off valves within the area of the repairs, it is anticipated that an extensive portion of the area s...outh of Durham-Dayton Hwy and east of Holland Avenue will be subject to the temporary water shut-off. PUBLIC NOTICE: MAINLINE LEAK 9:00AM This morning at approximately 6:00AM, we experienced a mainline leak in the alleyway between Brown and Faber streets. In order to isolate and repair this issue, we had to turn off the water service to a number of homes which are currently affecting old town Durham.
