Today we here in the U.S. vote for the next person to sit behind the desk in the Oval Office. Did you know that grand desk was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 and was built from the English oak timbers of the British Arctic exploration ship HMS Resolute?

What a lovely frock Alexa Border thank you for sharing. Her Majesty, Queen Victoria, would approve of the gold and Royal Blue!

COSTUME CHALLENGE Costumes are part of what makes the Dickens Fair a unique and immersive experience. Guests often join in the fun by wearing a cap, bonnet, or mask, while others come in complete costume. In the spirit of the Halloween Holiday, show us what you would have worn to the Fair this year! Include #dickensfaircostumechallenge so we may share your photo and randomly select four winners to receive a special gift. Do join us, won't you? (Challenge ends Saturday, November 21st.)

It's the Autumnal Equinox today, traditionally marking the end of the harvest. In England, the last shock of wheat was woven into a design to house the Spirits, and hung in the families’ home for the winter. The following Spring, the design was broken up, and its grain was planted first, returning the wheat Spirit to the soil. In celebration and support consider purchasing a Corn Dollie or stylish straw hat from one of our crafters: Strawbenders Ltd. Their designs are a lovely way to adorn your head or your home and make a unique and thoughtful housewarming gift. https://www.wheat-goddesses.com/ #MerchantOfTheWeek #shoponline #uniquegifts #hatshop
Art, and the appreciation of art, takes many forms in this time of COVID-19. Just as our event is an immersive adventure into the world of Charles Dickens and Victorian London, this multimedia installation was a unique way to honor our namesake buried in Poets Corner at Westminster Abbey in 1870. #artinthetimeofcorona #charlesdickens https://www.facebook.com/watch/
