Today marks the start of World Mask Week! By wearing a mask, you're not only protecting yourself; you're protecting other people, especially those most vulnerable to #COVID19. With World Health Organization (WHO)'s #WearAMask challenge, we all win!

Hi all, I know you’ve seen countless appreciation posts lately, but I really want to shine a light on a team that doesn’t get a lot of attention: the Rehab team.... Like so many other healthcare workers, many of us (PT/OT/SLP) are considered essential staff and are still going to work, particularly in the rehab/nursing facilities. We are grateful that we still have a job and are able to work with our patients, even with the anxiety of having absolutely no clue what changes we may face in the next few weeks. We are working with less staff to prevent spread of COVID-19, and are sympathetic to our peers who now do not have a job. We are working with everyone admitted, regardless of the fact that we have EXTREMELY limited supplies to protect ourselves. Most crucial of all, we are working with the population who are most at risk during this time. When you start going crazy at home with ALL of your family there at once, remember the folks in these nursing facilities who are now unable to see their families at all. Remember the folks who may not survive this pandemic and have spent their last few days quarantined away from their loved ones. Remember the patients with dementia who do not understand why they haven’t had any visitors. When their family is not there, WE are, and we will continue to be there for them as long as we can. That’s why #therapyrocks. Give your therapy friends a social distancing appropriate high five .... or at least a thumbs up. See more
